It con- tains all the BIOS setup information. Keep the jumper connected to pins 1-2 (Default) to retain the R TC data as shown below .

JP16: BIOS Fla sh Protect Jumper This jumper protects the system from unnecessary updating or fl a shing of the BIOS. It secures the BIOS therefore prevents a ccidental overwriting of the data stored in fla sh me mory .

J57: Front Audio Jumper This hea der lets you enable or disa ble the function of the fron t audio connector.
Chapter 2 PS/2 Mouse Connector (6-pin Fe male) The system will direct IRQ12 to the PS/2 mouse if one is detect ed. If no mouse is detected, IRQ12 will be free for expa nsion cards to use. PS/2 Keyboard Connector (6-pin Fe male) This connection is for sta ndard keyboards using a PS/2 (mini DI N) plug.

Chapter 3 Ste p 3— Align the processor to the socket by matching the Pin 1 corner of the socket (marked with a tria ngle) to the Pin 1 corner on the Sock et 604 (marked by a tria ngular hole in the Pin 1 corner). Ste p 4— Carefully insert the Xeon proce ssor in the socket recep ta cle s, taking care not to bend a ny pins.

Keep the bra cket for possible future use. 2. Insert the PCI card into the correct slot on the M ainboard, pushing down with your thumbs evenly on both sides of the card.

Chapter 4 4-1 BIOS Setup This cha pter discusses the AMIBIOS Setup program built into the ROM BIOS. The Setup progra m allows users to modify the ba sic syste m configuration. The BIOS is the Ba sic Input / Output System used in all IBM PC, XT , A T , a nd PS/2 compatible computers.
