14 601156_0308 5. Insert key in ignition switch and rotate full clockwise to engage starting motor . Release key w hen engine starts. IMPORT ANT: The engine starter should not be operated for p eriods longer than 30 seconds at a time.

16 601156_0308 Use high blade speed. Y our mower is designed to operate at full throt- tle. The throttle setting directly cont rols blade speed. The highest blade speed generally gives best cut.
601156_0308 17 W ith the engine running, engage the deck clutch switch ( Fig. 3-1) and advance engine throttle to full rpm. NO TE: Engaging the deck clutch at high engine rpm or when u nder heavy load (in tall grass for example) ca n cause belts and/or electric clutch to slip, resulting in premature wear or possible damage.

Please refer to this manual for engine servicing, lubricating oil level s with quality and viscosity recommendations, bolt torques, etc.
