Re- mov e the cardboard packing and discard. Place seat on seat pan so head of shoulder bolt is positioned ov er large slotted hole in pan (1).

23 T O ADJUST GA UGE WHEELS Gauge wheels are properly adjusted when they are slightly off the ground when mow er is at the desired cutting height in operating position. Gauge wheels then keep the deck in proper position to help pre vent scalping in most terrain con di tions.

42 Cutting tips • Clear the la wn from stones and other objects which can be thrown a wa y by the b lades. • Localize and mark stones and other fi xed objects to av oid collision. • Begin with a high cutting height and reduce until the required cutting result is obtained.
