English- 11 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS • If leaks arise in the fuel system, the engine must not be star ted until the problem has been resolv ed. • Store the machine and fuel in such a wa y that there is no risk of leaking fuel or fuel vapour leading to damages.

English- 15 PRESENTATION Throttle Contr ol The throttle is used to control the speed of the engine and thereby also the rotation speed of the b lades. In order to increase or decrease the engine speed, the control is mov ed forwards or bac kwards respectively .
English- 16 PRESENTATION Cutting unit Rider ProFle x can be equipped with a cutting unit of the types Combi 112 with a 112 cm cutting width and Combi 122 with a 122 cm cutting width. The Combi unit functions as a BioClip unit when a BioClip plug is fitted, but can be set to rear ejection by remo ving the BioClip plug.
English- 17 PRESENTATION Cutting height adjustment lever Using the cutting height le v er , the cutting height can be adjusted between 7 diff erent positions. In order to obtain an equal cutting height, it is impor tant that the air pressure is the same in both front wheels (60 kP a).
English- 18 PRESENTATION Mechanical lifting le ver f or cutting unit The le v er is used as a backup le ver to put the cutting unit in either the transpor t or mowing position when h ydraulic pressure is una v ailable . It can also be used to mechanically secure the cutting unit in the transpor t position.
English- 19 PRESENTATION P arking brake The parking brake is activ ated as follows: 1. Press the brak e pedal. 2. Completely depress the lock b utton on the steering ser vo housing. 3. Release the brak e pedal while keeping the b utton pressed in. The parking brake loc k is automatically disengaged when the brak e pedal is pressed down.
English- 20 PRESENTATION Differential loc k, PF 21 The diff erential lock couples the tw o drive wheels so that one wheel does not spin, thereby impro ving manoeuvrability . Press the pedal to engage the diff erential lock. Clutch contr ol The clutch control is used to mov e the Rider when the engine is not running.
English- 21 DRIVING Mowing tips • Localise and mark rocks and other fi x ed objects in order to av oid collisions. • Begin with a high cutting height and reduce it until the desired mowing result is attained. • The best mowing result will be obtained at a high engine speed (the blades rotate r apidly) and low speed (the Rider mov es slowly).
English- 22 DRIVING Driving Before Starting • Read section “ Saf ety instructions ” on page 7 and “ Presentation ” on page 13. • Carr y out daily maintenance according to “ Maintenance schedule ” on page 29). • Adjust the seat to the desired position.
English- 23 DRIVING 4. If the engine is cold, the choke control shall be mov ed backwards to its end position. 5. T ur n the ignition ke y to the star t position. 6. When the engine star ts, immediately release the ignition ke y so that it retur ns to the neutral position.
English- 24 DRIVING 8. Set the desired engine speed with the throttle. Allow the engine to run at a moderate speed, “ half throttle ” , f or 3-5 minutes bef ore loading it too heavily . English- 25 DRIVING 4. Depress the lock b utton on the mechanical lifting le v er and mov e the lev er to its most f orward position. The cutting unit lowers and star ts. Stopping the engine, PF 18 If the engine has been worked hard, it is pref erable to let the engine idle f or a minute so it runs at its nor mal working temperature when stopped.
English- 26 DRIVING Driving the Rider , PF 21 1. Release the parking brake b y fi rst pressing the brak e pedal and then releasing it. 2. Carefully press down one of the pedals until the required speed is attained. P edal (1) is pressed down to tra v el f orwards and pedal (2) to re v erse.
English- 27 DRIVING 5. If the cutting unit does not lower completely , or if the blades do not rotate , low er the cutting unit completely using the h ydraulic lifting le ver . In order to ensure that the h ydraulic cylinder is in the outer position, hold the le v er in the f orward position f or a half to one second.

English- 32 MAINTENANCE Removing the Rider ’ s co vers Engine cover 1. Push the seat to its most f orward position and then tip it back. 2. T ur n the cov er lock on the top of the engine cov er anti-clockwise a 1/4 turn. 3. F old up the engine cov er .
English- 33 MAINTENANCE Left-hand wing cover PF 18 Loosen the screws (1 and 2) and remo v e the wing cov er . PF 21 Remov e the differential loc k pedal knob . Loosen the screws (1 and 2) and remo v e the wing cov er . T ransmission cover Loosen both screws (one on each side) and lift off the transmission cov er .
English- 34 MAINTENANCE Cleaning the engine and muf fl er K eep the engine and muf fl er free from grass cuttings and dir t. Grass cuttings steeped in petrol or oil on the engine can increase the fi re risk and impair cooling. Allow the engine to cool bef ore cleaning.
English- 35 MAINTENANCE Checking and adjusting the steering cables The steering is governed by means of cab les. After a period of use these can become stretched, which means the steering setting may ha v e changed. Steering is checked and adjusted as f ollows: 1.
English- 36 MAINTENANCE Checking and adjusting the thr ottle cable Check that the engine responds to throttle increases and that a good engine speed is attained at full throttle. If doubts arise, contact your service representative . If adjustments are necessar y , the y can be made as f ollows f or the lower cab le: 1.
English- 37 MAINTENANCE Adjusting the hydr ostatic transmission cable The h ydrostatic transmission cab le (on the left side) is adjusted in the f ollowing manner: 1. Remov e the transmission cov er . Loosen both screws (one on each side) and lift off the transmission cov er .
English- 38 MAINTENANCE Adjusting the parking brake The parking brake (on the right side) is adjusted in the f ollowing manner: 1. Remov e the transmission cov er . Loosen both screws (one on each side) and lift off the transmission cov er . 2. Unhook the spring (A) from the screw (B).
English- 39 MAINTENANCE Replacing the air fi lter If the engine seems to lack po wer or does not run smoothly this ma y be because the air fi lter is clogged. If run with a soiled air fi lter , carbon can b uild-up on the spark plugs and lead to malfunction.
English- 40 MAINTENANCE 4. Remov e the wing nut in the air fi lter and remov e the paper fi lter . 5. T ap the paper fi lter against a fi xed surf ace to remov e dust.
English- 41 MAINTENANCE 3. Remov e the foam rubber pre- fi lter and clean using a mild detergent. Squeeze it dry with a clean cloth. 4. Remov e the wing nuts for the air fi lter and remo v e the paper fi lter . 5. T ap the paper fi lter against a fi xed surf ace to remov e dust.
English- 42 MAINTENANCE Replacing the fuel fi lter Replace the fuel fi lter mounted on the supply line after e v er y 100 hours (once per season) or more frequently if it is clogged. Replace the fi lter as f ollows: 1. Open the engine cov er . 2. Mov e the hose clamps awa y from the fi lter .
English- 43 MAINTENANCE Checking the tyre pressures The tyre ’ s air pressure should be 60 kP a (0.6 kp/cm 2 ) on all wheels. In order to improv e dr ive po wer the pressure in the rear tyres can be reduced to 40 kP a (0.4 kp/cm 2 ). Highest permitted pressure = 80 kPa (0.
English- 44 MAINTENANCE Replacing the spark plug 1. Remov e the ignition cable shoe and clean around the spark plug. 2. Remov e the spar k plug with a 13/16" (21 mm) spark plug socket wrench. 3. Check the spark plug. Replace the spark plug if the electrodes are burnt or if the insulation is crac ked or damaged.
English- 45 MAINTENANCE Checking the saf ety system The Rider is equipped with a saf ety system that pre v ents star ting or dr iving under the f ollowing conditions. It should only be possible to start the engine when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the h ydrostat pedals are in the neutral position.
English- 46 MAINTENANCE Replacing the light bulbs F or inf ormation about the bulb type, see “ T echnical data ” . 1. Unscrew the tw o screws holding the co ver on the power servo housing. Lift up the cov er and tur n it around the steer ing shaft.
English- 47 MAINTENANCE The cutting unit components In the instructions below , a cutting unit with a rear ejector is shown, b ut the same principles apply to all cutting units unless otherwise stated.
English- 48 MAINTENANCE 1. Attach the unit to the equipment frame ’ s outer hooks. 2. Pull out the catch (A) and loosen the saf ety catch by pushing its handle (D) bac k. 3. Raise the unit by pulling up the mechanical lifting le v er , located on the driver ’ s r ight side.

English- 50 MAINTENANCE Adjusting the cutting height, parallelism and ground pressure When a new cutting unit is attached, y ou need to adjust the cutting height, parallelism and ground pressure . English- 52 MAINTENANCE Cutting unit model ProFle x 18 and ProFle x 21 can be equipped with two diff erent types of cutting unit: • Combi 112 • Combi 122 Other cutting units cannot be mounted without changing the drive belt. Checking the b lades It is impor tant that the blades are undamaged and well- ground to giv e the best mowing result.
English- 53 MAINTENANCE Removing the cutting unit 1. Place the machine on a fl at surf ace. 2. Lock the br ake b y pressing down the pedal and locking with the push-b utton. 3. Lift the cutting unit with the mechanical lifting le v er . 4. Remov e the front cover .
English- 54 MAINTENANCE 9. Unhook the height adjustment strut (E) by moving the rear par t upwards: Unload the strut if necessar y by pulling the frame ’ s f orward section up or do wn. 10. Pull the handle (D) and unit simultaneously . Release the handle when the unit has come out a bit.

English- 56 MAINTENANCE Attaching the belt 1. Place the f orward part of the belt in place and hang the f orward part around the handle of the saf ety catch. 2. Put the belt on the centre pulley and against the anti-scalp roller . 3. Press the guide plate down under the anti-scalp roller and push the belt into place.
English- 57 MAINTENANCE Changing the cutting unit ’ s belt Changing the belt on the Combi unit On these cutting units with “ collision-proof ” blades, the blades are driv en by one V -belt. Do as follows to replace the V -belt: 1. Dismantle the cutting unit, see page 53.
English- 58 MAINTENANCE Remov al of BioClip Plug T o change a Combi unit from the BioClip function to a cutting unit with rear ejection, remov e the BioClip plug, which is located under the unit, attached with three screws . 1. English- 65 LUBRICATION Replacing the engine oil The engine oil should be changed the fi rst time after 8 hours running time. It should then be changed after e v er y 100 hours of running time. 1. Open the engine cov er . 2. Place a container underneath the engine ’ s left oil drain plug.
English- 66 LUBRICATION 5. Gear lever Remov e the transmission cov er , two screws . Lubricate the joints and bear ings on the left side with an oil can. Remov e the r ubber casing and lubricate the h ydrostatic transmission cab le with an oil can. Press the pedal a f ew times and lubricate again.

English- 68 LUBRICATION 10. Hydraulic oil fi lter , change , PF 21 1. Remov e the oil fi lter . If necessar y , use a fi lter remov er . 2. Wipe new , clean engine oil onto the seal for the new fi lter . 3. Fit the fi lter by hand with + 3/4 turn.

Fuel allowed to stand f or long periods of time (30 days or more) can lea v e stic ky residues that can clog the carburettor and disrupt engine function.
