11 OPERA TION The operation of any tractor can result in f oreign objects thro wn into the eyes, which can result in severe e ye dam age . Always wear saf ety glass es or eye shields while operating your tractor or per form ing any adjustments or repairs.

13 ADD GASOLINE • Fill fuel tank to bottom of fi ller neck. Do not ov erfi ll. Use fresh, clean, regular un lead ed gasoline with a minimum of 87 octane. (Use of leaded gasoline will increase carbon and lead o xide deposits and reduce valv e lif e).

16 MAINTENANCE BLADE REMO V AL (See Fig. 10) • Raise mower to highest position to allo w access to blades . • Remov e blade bolt, loc k washer and fl at w asher se cur ing bla d e. • Install new or reshar pened blade with trailing edge up tow ards deck as shown.
17 02463 MAINTENANCE V- B E L T S Check V -belts for deterioration and w ear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if they begin to slip from w ear. TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be kept clean to assure proper cooling.
18 MAINTENANCE MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muffl er and spark arrester (if equipped) as it could create a fi re hazard and/or damage. SP ARK PLUGS Replace spark plugs at the beginning of each mowing season or after e very 100 hours of operation, whichev er occurs fi rst.
