11 OPERA TION The oper ation of any trac tor can result in for eign ob jects thr own i nto the eyes, which can result in severe eye d amage. Always wear safety glasses or eye shie lds while operating your tractor or pe rfor ming any adjustm ents or r epairs.
12 OPERA TION TO OPERATE ON HILLS CAUTION: Do not d rive up or d own hills with slopes greater than 15° and do not drive across any slope. • Choose the slowest speed before starting up or down hills. • Avoid stopp in g or changing speed on hills.

17 CUST O MER RESPONSIBILITIES BATTERY (See Fig. 16) Your tractor has a bat tery charging system which is suffi- cient for no rmal use. Ho wever, periodic charging of the battery with an automotive charger will extend it's li fe. • Acid so lution l evel in each battery cell should b e even with botto ms of vent wells.
18 CUST O MER RESPONSIBILITIES ENGINE LUBRICATIO N Only use high quality d etergent oil rated w ith AP I service classification SF or SG. Select the oil's SAE viscosity grad e according to your e xpected operating temperature. TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL (See F ig.
19 CUST O MER RESPONSIBILITIES MUFFLER Inspect and replace corroded muf fler a nd spa rk ar rester ( if equipped) as it could cre ate a fire h azard and/or damage. SPARK PLUGS Replace spark plugs at the b eginning of ea ch mowing season or after every 100 hours of operation, w hichever comes first.
