Re- mov e the cardboard packing and discard. Place seat on seat pan so head of shoulder bolt is positioned ov er large slotted hole in pan (1).

28 2 P our assembler le collecteur • Déplier le sac en faisant basculer complètement vers l’av ant le tube antérieur de l’ensacheuse et en poussant la bordure inf érieure en vinyle sur le tube. • Dans le sac, placer les entretoises et les ressor ts de retenue sur les goupilles des deux côtés du sac, de la f açon illustrée.

36 2 T O ADJUST GA UGE WHEELS Gauge wheels are properly adjusted when they are slightly off the ground when mow er is at the desired cutting height in operating position. Gauge wheels then keep the deck in proper position to help pre vent scalping in most terrain con di tions.

39 3 2. Throttle and c hoke control The accelerator control regulates the motor speed and also the speed of the blades . If the le v er is in its forw ard position the choke function is con nect ed. If the lev er is in its re v erse position the motor is in neu tral.
40 00778 4. Gear shift lever The gear bo x has positions forw ard, neutral and re verse. Gear changing can take place from neutral to top gear with- out stopping in each gear position. Disengage the motor at each gear position! Star t can take place irrespectiv e of the gear le ver position.
41 3 6. Quic k lifting/lowering of the cutting unit Pull the le ver bac kwards to quic kly lift the cutting unit when passing ov er irregularities in the lawn, etc. Dur ing trans por - ta tion the cutting unit shall be in the highest position. Pull the le ver bac k until it locks .

74 02375 6 Dismantling of the cutting unit W ork from the r ight side of the machine. 1. T ake off the belt from the engine pulley (1). 2. Remov e the two rear retainer springs (2) and knock off the axle taps with a hammer . 3. Remov e the retainer springs (3), (4), (5) and axles.
75 6 Replacement of drive belt for cutting unit 1. Dismantle the cutting unit as described previously . 2. W ork off the belt from the unit's left pulley and then from the other wheels. 3. Pull the belt awa y from the cutting unit. 4. The new belt is mounted in the rev erse order .
76 6 01268 B A 01156 1 2 Adjustment of the cutting unit A. In the direction of travel 1. Check that the air pressure is correct in all f our tires. 2. Make sure that the machine is on a horizontal surface . 3. Lift up the cutting unit to its highest position.

79 6 TRANSAXLE GEAR SHIFT LEVER NEUTRAL AD JUST MENT The transaxle should be in neutral when the gear shift le v er is in neutral (N) (loc k gate) position. The adjustment is preset at the f actor y; how ev er , if adjustment is needed, proceed as fo ll o w s: • Make sure transaxle is in neutral (N).
