English - 11 2. PRESENTATION 2.1 Automower ™ , what’s what? The numbers in th e pict ur e co rr es po nd to: 1. Cutting height adjustment cover 2. Catch button to open th e cutting hei ght adjustment cover 3. Front wheel 4. Drive wheel 5. Body 6. Stop button 7.
12 - English 2. PRESENTATION 2.2 Function of Automower ™ Capacity Automower is recommended for lawns up to 0.15 acre. The size of the working ar ea the mower can handle depends on how much it is used. The larger the lawn the more occasions per we ek Automower can work.
English - 13 2. PRESENTATION The blades must be in good conditio n to obta in the best mowing result. In order to kee p the blades sharp for as long as possible it is important to kee p the lawn free from branches, small stones and other objects.
14 - English 2. PRESENTATION Working method Automower automatically mo ws the lawn. Automower automatically mows the la wn. When the battery is discharged the mower stop s on the lawn, and you need to carry it to the loop generator/cha rger for charging.
English - 15 2. PRESENTATION activated by pressing the STOP button. Movement pattern The mower’s movement pattern is irregular and is determined by Auto mower itself. A movement pattern is never repeated. Th is mowing system means the lawn is mown equally wit hout any mowing lines.
16 - English 3. INSTALLATION 3. Installation This chapter desc rib es how yo u in st all Hus qvarna Automower™. Before starting the installatio n read the previous chapter 2 . Presentation . Read the whole of this chapt er too be fore starting the installation.
English - 17 3. INSTALLATION 3.1 Preparations 1. If the lawn in the proposed working ar ea is taller than 4", mow it using a no rmal lawn mow er. Then collect the clippings.
18 - English 3. INSTALLATION Consider the dis tance to a wall socket when choosing the position. The loop generato r/charger must be connected to a 120 V wall socket and there must be room for the mower when it is to charged. It is recommended to u se an earth fault-brea ker when connecting the transform er to the wall socket.
English - 19 3. INSTALLATION 3.4 Installation of the boundary wire The bound ary wire can be inst alled in one of the following ways: • Securing the wire to the grou nd with staples. It is preferable to staple down th e boundary cable, if you want to make adjustments to the boun dary wire during th e first few weeks o f operation.
20 - English 3. INSTALLATION Boundaries for the working area If a high o bstacle, for example a wall or fence, borders the working ar ea , the boundary wire should be laid 14" from the ob stacle. This will prevent Automower from collidin g with the obstacle and reduce body wea r.
English - 21 3. INSTALLATION If the working area borders against a flat path or th e like that lies level with the la w n, it is possible to allow Automower to run a little over the path . The boundary wire should then be laid 4" from the ed g e of the pa th .
22 - English 3. INSTALLATION Obstacles th at slope slightly, for example, stones or large trees with raised roots, should be demar cated or removed. Automower can otherwise slide up on to this kind of obstacle c ausing the blades to be damaged.
English - 23 3. INSTALLATION The boundary wire should not be laid across a slope that is steeper than 10 %. There is a risk of Automower finding it difficult to turn, and bein g unable to move. The risk is at its greate st in da mp weather conditions, as the wheels can slip on the wet grass.
24 - English 3. INSTALLATION Tip! Use the supplied measureme nt gauge as a guide when you lay out the bounda ry wire. This helps you to easily set the correct distance between the boundary wire and the boundary/obstacle.
English - 25 3. INSTALLATION Laying the boundary wire in t owards the loop generator/ charger The ends of the boundar y wire are run in parallel and close to each other in towards the loop generator/charger. As long as the total length of the boundary wire does not exceed 1200 ft, the sections where the wires ru n in parallel can be any length .
26 - English 3. INSTALLATION 3.5 Connecting the boundary wire Connect the boundary wire to the loop generator/char ger: 1. Place the cable ends in the connector: • Open the connector. • Place the wire in the connector grip. 2. Press the connector together usin g a pa ir of pliers.
English - 27 3. INSTALLATION 3.6 Checking th e installation Check the loop signal by looking to see what indication the green LED on the loo p generator/charger is giving. • Steady light = the signal is okay. • Flashing on ce every other s econd = break in th e loop and no signal found.
