14 – English PRESENT A TION If the lock b utton is pressed in and the le ver is mo v ed forw ards the unit will be lowered and the b lades will automatically star t to rotate (mowing position). The le ver can also be used to tempor arily regulate the cutting height, e.
English – 15 Driving Bef ore star ting • Read the saf ety instructions and information concer ning the placement of controls and functions bef ore star ting. • P erform daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule. English – 17 Driving Cutting tips • Localise and mark stones and other fixed objects to a void collision. • Star t with a high cutting height and reduce down until the required mowing results are obtained. • The mowing results are best with a high engine speed (f ast rotating blades) and lo w driving speed (slow moving machine).
18 – English Driving Release lever The release control must be pulled out in order f or the machine to be mov ed when the engine is shutoff . English – 19 Maintenance Maintenance schedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance which should be conducted on the machine. For those points not described in this manual, visit an authorised ser vice workshop. 1) First change after 5 hours. When operating with a hea vy load or at high ambient temperatures, replace e very 50 hours.
20 – English Maintenance Cleaning Clean the machine directly after use. It is much easier to wash off grass cuttings bef ore they dr y . Oily dir t can be remov ed using a cold degreasing agent. Spra y on a thin la yer . Rinse at normal water pressure.
English – 21 Maintenance 2 Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing them together by the arro ws as illustrated. It should be possible to push them together so that the distance between them is half as much, without using unnecessary f orce.
22 – English Maintenance 2 Pull the choke wire casing to the f ar r ight and tighten the clamping screw . 3 Pull back the throttle to the full throttle position and chec k that the choke is no longer actuated. Replacement of fuel filter Replace the fuel filter e very 100 running hours (once per season) or more frequently if it is clogged.
English – 23 Maintenance 5 Carefully clean the f an housing so that dir t does not fall down into the carb urettor . 6 Inser t a new precleaner and air filter car tridge in the fan housing. 7 Align the tabs on the cov er with the slits in the housing and replace the air filter cov er .
24 – English Maintenance Check the saf ety system The machine is equipped with a saf ety system that pre vents starting or dr iving under the follo wing conditions. The engine should only be possible to start when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the hydrostat pedals are in the neutr al position.
English – 25 Maintenance Main fuse The main fuse is placed in a detachable holder under the batter y case’ s cover , in front of the batter y . T ype: Flat pin, 15 A. Do not use any other type of fuse when replacing. A blo wn fuse is indicated by a b urnt connector .
26 – English Maintenance Make sure that the tongue (3) on the cutting unit engages correctly . 3 Inser t the bolt and secure it with a locking pin. 4 Press down the frame and insert the pin. Fit the dr ive belt around the drive wheels of the cutting unit.
English – 27 Maintenance 4 Place a set of bathroom scales under the cutting unit’ s frame (front edge) so that it rests on the scales. If necessar y a bloc k can be placed between the frame and scales so that the suppor t wheels do not bear any weight.
28 – English Maintenance Service position for the cutting unit The cutting head can be placed in the service position to provide easy access f or cleaning, repairs and ser vicing. In the ser vice position the cutting unit is raised and loc ked in the vertical position.
English – 29 Maintenance 8 Lift of the drive belt. Then pull out the pin. 9 Pull the frame f orwards and refit the pin. 10 Grasp the front edge of the cutting unit, pull out and raise into the ser vice position. If the cylindrical bolt, which is now holding the cutting unit is remov ed, the cutting unit can be lifted off .
30 – English Lubrication Checking the engine’ s oil level. Check the oil le vel in the engine when the Rider stands horizontal with the engine s witched off. Open the engine cov er . Loosen the dipstick, pull it up and wipe it off . Now insert the dipstick again.
English – 31 Lubrication Checking the transmission oil le vel 1 Remov e the transmission co ver . Undo the two screws (one on each side) and lift off the transmission cov er . 2 Check that there is oil in the tr ansmission’ s oil tank. Fuel which is left to stand for long periods (30 da ys or more) can leav e tacky deposits which can b lock the carburettor and interf ere with the engine.
