English – 13 PRESENT A TION Cutting unit Rider 15T , Rider 15T A WD and Rider 15Ts A WD can be equipped with three diff erent cutting units. • CombiClip 94 • CombiClip 103 • CombiClip 112 The Combi-unit, equipped with a BioClip-plug, finely chops the cuttings to f er tiliser .
14 – English PRESENT A TION T o adjust mo ve the le ver under the front edge of the seat to the left, so that the seat can be mov ed f orward or bac kwards to the required position. Fuelling The engine runs on unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 87 (not mix ed with oil).
English – 15 Driving Bef ore star ting • Read the safety instructions and information concer ning the placement of controls and functions bef ore star ting. • Perf or m daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule. Star t the engine 1 Make sure that the clutch control is depressed.
16 – English Driving 8 Let the engine run at moderate speed or half throttle for 3- 5 minutes bef ore subjecting it to heavy load. 9 Set the required engine speed with the throttle control. Star ting the engine with a weak battery If the batter y is too weak to star t the engine, it should be recharged.
English – 17 Driving 4 Press in the lock b utton on the lifting le ver and lo wer the cutting unit. Cutting tips • Localise and mark stones and other fixed objects to a void collision. • Star t with a high cutting height and reduce down until the required mowing results are obtained.
18 – English Maintenance Maintenance schedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance which should be conducted on the machine. For those points not described in this manual, visit an authorised ser vice workshop. 1) If the machine is used daily it should be lubricated twice a week.
English – 19 Maintenance Cleaning Clean the machine directly after use. It is much easier to wash off grass cuttings bef ore they dr y . Oily dir t can be remov ed using a cold degreasing agent. Spra y on a thin la yer . Rinse at normal water pressure.
20 – English Maintenance 2 Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing them together by the arro ws as illustrated. It should be possible to push them together so that the distance between them is half as much, without using unnecessary f orce.
English – 21 Maintenance Checking and adjusting the c hoke wire If the engine is producing blac k smoke or is difficult to start then the choke wire (upper wire) ma y be incorrectly adjusted.
22 – English Maintenance 6 If the paper filter is still dir ty it should be replaced with a new one . Alwa ys replace the paper filter ev er y 200 hours.
English – 23 Maintenance Check the saf ety system The machine is equipped with a saf ety system that pre vents star ting or driving under the following conditions . The engine should only be possible to start when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the h ydrostat pedals are in the neutral position.
24 – English Maintenance Replacing the light bulbs F or information about the bulb type , see T echnical Data. 1 Loosen the lock n ut and remov e the Allen bolt. Remov e the steering wheel. 2 Unscrew the tw o screws holding the co ver on the po wer ser vo housing.
English – 25 Maintenance Open the engine co ver. Check that the cooling intak e is free from leav es, grass and dir t. Check the air duct, located on the inside of the engine co ver , ensure it is clean and does not rub against the cooling air intake .
26 – English Maintenance 9 Hook up the height adjustment strut. 10 Secure the collet spring. 11 Fit the front cov er . Removing the cutting unit 1 Carr y out points 1-6 to put the cutting unit in the ser vice position, see Ser vice position f or the cutting unit.
English – 27 Maintenance Checking the cutting unit’ s parallelism Check the cutting unit’ s parallelism as f ollows: 1 Check the air pressure in the tyres 60 kP a/0.6 kp/cm 2 /8.5 PSI. 2 Place the machine on a flat surf ace. 3 Put the lifting le ver in the mo wing position.
28 – English Maintenance 7 Remov e the screws on the cutting co v er . Lift the unit frame and remov e the cutting unit cover . 8 Loosen the spring that tensions the V -belt and pr y off the belt.
English – 29 Maintenance Restoring fr om service position 1 Grip the front edge of the unit and loosen the lock, f old down and slide in the unit. 2 Replace the cutting height sta y and the belt. 3 T ension the belt with the belt adjuster . 4 Fit the front cov er .
30 – English Lubrication Checking the engine’ s oil level. Check the oil le vel in the engine when the Rider stands horizontal with the engine s witched off. Open the engine cov er . Loosen the dipstick, pull it up and wipe it off . Now insert the dipstick again, without tightening it.
English – 31 Lubrication Lightly lubricate the r ubber seal on the ne w oil filter using new oil. Fit the oil filter by turning clockwise. T urn by hand until the rubber seal is seated. Now tighten a fur ther half tur n. Fill with new oil according to Chec king the engine’ s oil lev el.

English – 33 Storage Winter stora ge At the end of the season, or if the machine is going to stand idle f or more than 30 days , it should immediately be made ready f or storage. Fuel which is left to stand for long periods (30 da ys or more) can leav e tacky deposits which can b lock the carburettor and interf ere with the engine.
34 – English T echnical data Note 1: The power r ating of the engine indicated is the av erage net output (at specified rpm) of a typical production engine for the engine model measured to SAE standard J1349/ISO1585. Mass production engines may diff er from this value.
