42935-01 06/04/2007 5 Loosen the wiring cover screw. Remove the fan assembly from the housing. Remove the wiring cover . D E C Choose Installation Option F or New Construction - attaching to joist, go t o step A1, page 5. F or New Construction - suspended between, joists go to step B1, page 7.
42935-01 06/04/2007 6 A 1 Sec tion A - New Construc tion - attaching to joist Drive mounting screws (supplied) into joist or framing. Position the correct depth mark at the bottom edge of the joist based upon the the thick ness of your sheetrock. 5/8 1/2 5/8 1/2 A 2 Pop out a wiring access slug.
42935-01 06/04/2007 7 A 6 Connect 4” duct and vent to the outside. Use duct tape to secure joints. If duc ting does not fit securely , an adapter may need to be purchased. Go to Section E - Final Installation on page 14. Sec tion B - New Construction – suspended between joists Pop out a wiring access slug.
42935-01 06/04/2007 8 Mark position of screws by using holes as a template. Drill a pilot hole at the TOP of each outline. B4 1/16” bit B5 Inser t mounting screws, leaving space between the screw head and the joist. (Screws are supplied.) Attach the rails onto the screws.
42935-01 06/04/2007 9 B10 Install the wir ing and the strain relief into the wiring access hole you made earlier . B11 Connect 4” duct and vent to the outside. Use duct tape to secure joints. If duc ting does not fit securely , an adapter may need to be purchased.

C3 5/8 1/2 5/8 1/2 C4 Using the depth markings on the housing, position the bottom edge of the housing so that it will be flush with the sheetrock. Pop out a wiring access slug. C6 C5 Mark position of screws by using holes as a template.

C8 C9 Tighten screws . 3” C 1 0 Run the power supply wire through the strain relief , leav- ing 3” between the end of the wire and the strain relief .
