1.3 Installation 1.3.1 T o rem ove th e back c over T o remove the back cover , refer to the follo wing figure . 1.3.2 T o install or remove the S IM card Before installing or removing the SIM card, power off the T ablet. In sert you r SIM card fully into the SIM c ard slot as shown in the follow ing figure.

1.4 T urning your T ablet on or off 1.4.1 T o turn your T ablet on Before you turn the T ablet on, ensure that the battery is correctly installed or the T ablet has been properly connected to the power supply . T o turn the T ablet on, press the Power key .
1.4.2 PIN protection If your SIM card is pr eset with a PIN, the T ablet prompts you to enter the PIN. The PIN may have been provided by your service provider with your SIM card. If you have lost your PIN , consult your service pro vider . 1.4.3 T o turn your T ablet off 1.
T o charge the battery , you can connect the T ablet to the power supply through the power adapter , as shown in the following figure. 1.6 Keys Y ou access a variety of functions and shortcuts by using the physical keys in addition to buttons displayed on the touch screen.
− Press to open an option men u with items relevant to the current screen or application. − Press and hold to open the k eyboard to perform quick search ( only available on some screens). − If the screen unlock pattern has not been set, press to unlock the locked screen.
Action Description Touch and hold Touch and hold an i tem on the screen until an action occurs. For example, you can usu ally touch and hold the s creen to open the context menu of the a ctive item. Drag Touch and hold an i tem, and then move your finger on the screen until you reach the target p osition.
1.8.1 Getting to know the Home screen Item Description 1 Home screen catego ry tabs. Touch the tabs to switch directly to the one desired, or flick your finger righ t or left across the main display a rea to move between them in sequ ence. 2 Home screen indica tor.
Item Description 5 System status indic ators. Displays system sta tus information including time, cellular network signal type and strength, Wi-Fi connection status and signal strength, and battery status. You can touch some of them for more details. 6 Event button.
1.8.3 Customizing the Home screen Y ou can add items such as shortcuts, widge ts, Emotion widgets and folders to the Home screen if there is eno ugh room. Y ou can also change the wallpaper of the Hom e screen. T o add an item 1. Flick the Home screen to where you want to add the item.
T o move an item 1. T ouch and hold an item's icon on the Home screen unti l the icon magnifies. 2. Without lifting your finger, drag the icon to the target position on the scr een. Pause at the bottom of the screen to drag th e item onto the corresponding Ho me n panel.
1.9 Locking and unlocking the screen 1.9.1 T o lock the screen When the T ablet is on, press the Power key to turn off and l ock the sc reen. When t he T ablet remain s idle f or a time per iod that you have s et, the s creen w ill auto matic ally lock.
1.10 T ext input Y ou can enter and edit text in text fields and use m enu commands to cu t, copy , and paste text, within or across applications. 1.10.1 Using onscreen keyboard to enter text T ouch a text field wher e you want to enter text to ope n the onscreen keyboa rd.
− On the numbers and symbols keyboard, touch the AL T key to view additional symbols, and touch it again t o switch back. − T ouch and hold almost an y of the number and symbol keys to open a window of additional symbols.

1.13 Setting date and time By default, the T ablet automatically uses the networ k provided date, time zone, and time . When the time provid ed by the network is automatically used, you cannot set the da te, ime, and time zone by yourself. t T o manually set date and time: 1.
T o remove the micro SD card, gen tly push the card in to the slot , then rele ase it. The card will eject from the slo t, and can then be remo ved. 1.15 Connecting to or disconnecting from a computer using USB T o connect your T able t to a computer using USB: 1.

1.17 Connecting your T ablet to a TV Y ou can conn ect your T ablet to a TV to output audio and video fro m the T ablet to the TV . Playing pictures, vide os, and music on your T ablet via a TV brings you a better experience. Y ou mus t use a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cable to connect the T ablet to the TV .
2 Wireless networ ks Y our T ablet can connect to a variety of wireless networks and devi ces, including Wi-Fi data networks, Bluetooth d evices such as headsets, and mobile networks for voice and data transmission. Using a wireless devic e or accessory while driving may cause distraction and may be Always obey the laws and drive safely .
T o extend your battery life, turn Wi-Fi off when you are not using it. 2.1.3 Connecting to a Wi-Fi network When you turn Wi-Fi on, the available Wi-Fi networks found within range are listed with the names and security sc heme information, and secured netw orks are indicated with a lock icon.
2.1.5 Adding a Wi-Fi Network When a Wi-Fi netw ork with security credentials do es not broadcast its name (SSID), o r it is not in range, you can add and save the network settings and connect to it when i t is available.
2.2.1 Opening Bluetooth setting s Y ou can turn Bluetooth on or off, change the Bluetooth name of your T able t, connect to a Bluetooth device and scan to view Bluetoot h devices in the Bluetooth se ttings list. T o open Bluetooth settings list: 1. Open the Settings li st.

2.2.6 Configuring the Bluetooth fea tures Some Bluetooth devices h ave multiple profiles. Profiles can include the ability to transmi t conversations, or to play music in stereo. Y ou can select which profiles you want to use with your T abl et to configure the Bluetooth features.

40 5.3.3 T o read an email message T o read an email message, you can open the Email screen, touch to sele ct an account inbox , then touch the messa ge to read. Alternatively you can touch and hold the message, and then touch View details in the menu that opens.
6 Calls 6.1 Making calls by dialing 1. T o display the phon e panel, you can touch Dialer on the ho me screen or on the Applications screen. Or if you have the Call log , Contacts or Favorites tab open, you can touch to switch to th e Dialer tab. 2. T ouch the digital keys to ent er the phone number.
6.3.1 T o open the Call log T o open the Call log , touch Call log on the Applications screen. Y ou can also touch the Call log when you have the Diale r , Contact s or Favorites tab open. Calls are listed with the mos t recent at the top. Flick up and d own to view all entries in he log.

7 Messaging Use Messaging to exchange text mes sages (SMS) and multimed ia messages (MMS) w ith your friends. 7.1 Opening Messaging T ouch Messaging on the Applications screen to open the Messaging screen. The Messaging window opens, w here you can create a ne w message or open an ongoing message thread.

8 Cont acts Contact s enables you to save and manage i nformation such as ph one numbers, email addresses and chat a ddresses of your contacts, and provides qui ck and easy access to communicate with the people you want. 8.1 Opening Contact s Y ou can open your contacts by touching Contact s on the Home screen or on the Applications screen.
4. When you have finis hed entering details, flick to the bottom of the page and touch Save to save the contact details to your T ablet. 8.3 Searching for contact s 1. Open the Contacts screen. 2. T ouch Search . 3. Enter the name of t he contact you are searching for.
4. T ouch Make default number in the menu that opens. The default phon e number is marked with a checkmark. 8.4.3 T o delete a contact 1. Open Contacts . 2. T ouch and hold th e contact to delete, and touch Delete contact in the menu that opens. Y ou can also touch Dele te while viewing details of the contact.
8.5.2 T o remove a conta ct from fav orites On the Favorites tab, touch and hold the co ntact. In the menu that opens touch Remove from favorites . Y ou can also touch the red star to the rig ht of the contact name while viewing de tails of the contact.
9 Multimedia applications 9.1 Sound Recorder T ouch Sound Recorder on the Applications screen to open the Sound Recorder screen. T ouch the round button to start to record your message. T ouch the triangle button to pla y back the recording. T ouch the square button to stop recording or playing.
T o add a song to a playlist, touch and hold th e desired song to access the shortcut menu and select Add to playlist . 9.4 Video On the Applications screen, touch Video to open the Vid eo screen and display the video files. On the Video screen, touch a file to play the video.
9.5.3 Sharing a Picture When viewing a picture, touch it, and then touch . T ouch the a pplic atio n you wa nt to use to share a picture wi th your friends.
10 Handy applications 10.1 Calendar Y ou can u se the Calendar to create and ma nage events such as mee tings and appointments. T ouch Calendar on the Applications screen to open it. The current and following day’s events are shown on the event widget on the Home screen.
Y ou can set an alarm by modi fying an existing alarm or by adding a new one. T ouch an existing alarm to set its time and other attributes. Or press the Menu key and touch Add alarm to add a new one. T ouch to make the check box to the left of an alarm checked or unchecked to turn the alarm on or off.
