1 1 About this docume nt Thank you fo r choosing the HUA WEI MediaPad. This document is intended for HUA W EI MediaPad that runs EM UI 3.0 . Figures in this document are screenshots taken under the Bloom theme. Switch to the Bloom theme to better understand this guide.
2 2 Getting st arted Locking and unlocking the screen Locking the s creen : If yo ur HUA W EI MediaPad has been idle for a specified period of time, the screen locks itsel f automatically . Y ou can also press the power button to lo ck the screen.

4 Home screen operations T o open an application: On the home screen, touch the application. T o switch between the home s creen and its extensions: On the home scree n, flick your finger left or right.
5 Opening the notification and shortcut panels : Slide down from the status bar t o open the notific ation panel. Flick lef t or right to switch between the notifications and shortcuts tabs. Touch a notification to view its details a nd flick left or right across a notifica tion to dism iss it.
6 3 T ext input Y our HUA WEI MediaPad comes with multiple input methods. Y ou can quickly enter text using the onscreen keyboard. T ouch a text input field to br ing up the onscreen keyboard. When you are done, touch to hide the onscreen keyboard.
7 4 Network connection Connecting to a Wi - Fi networ k 1. On the home screen, touch Set tings > Wi - Fi . 2. Toggle the switch of Wi - Fi to to turn on Wi - Fi. Your HUAWEI MediaPad then scans for available Wi - Fi networks. 3. Select the desired Wi - Fi network and follow the onscreen instructions .
8 5 Network sharin g Y ou can use various methods to share your HUA WEI MediaPad's data connection with other wireless devices. Sharing your data connection using a W i - Fi hotspot (Applicable to select ed models) By setting up your HUA W EI MediaPad as a Wi - Fi hotspot, you can share your mobile network with other devices.
9 6 Cont ac ts Creating a contact 1. On the home screen, touch Contacts to display your contacts list. 2. Touch . 3. Enter the related information, such as the conta ct's name, phone number, and email address. 4. Touch Add another field to add more information.
10 1. On the home screen, touch Contacts to display your contacts list. 2. Touch > Import/ Export . 3. Touch Export to storage . Sharing contacts Y ou can share cont acts in your HUA WEI MediaPad with your friends using email, Bluetooth , and more.
11 7 Calls (Applicabl e to selected models) Making an emergency call In the event of an emergency , you can make eme rgency calls without a SIM card. However , you must still be within the coverage area. 1. On the home screen, touch Dialer . 2. Enter a local emergency number and touch .
12 T o delete all or multiple call log entries: On the Dialer screen, to uch > Delete call log . Select the check b ox and touch to delete all call log entries.
13 8 Messaging (Applicabl e to selected models) Searching for a message If you are having trouble finding a specific message in a pile of messages, this fun ction can come to your rescue. 1. On the home screen, touch Messaging . 2. Touch > Search .
14 9 Managing applica tions Installing an appli cation Y ou can obtain and inst all an application using any of the follow ing methods: Download it from an online app store or by using a browser . After the application is downloaded, f ollow the onscreen instructions to inst all it.
15 10 Multimedia Taking a panoramic photo (Appli cable to selected models) Y our HUA WEI MediaPad enables you to easily take panoramic photos without a wide - angle lens. 1. On the home screen, touch Camera . 2. Touch > Panorama to switch to panorama mode.
