1 Getting started 1.1 About your T ablet Thanks for choosing IDEOS S7 Slim. The IDEOS S7 Slim (T ablet for short) is an information terminal that provides convenien t and high quality picture, audio, .

T o remove the back cover , refer to the follo wing figure . 1.3.2 T o install or remove the S IM card Before installing or removing the SIM card, power off the T ablet. In sert you r SIM card fully into the SIM ca rd slot as shown in the followi ng figure.

1.4.2 PIN protection If your SIM card is pr eset with a PIN, the T ablet prompts you to enter the PIN. The PIN may have been provided by your service provider with your SIM card. If you lost your PIN, co nsult your service provider. have 1.4.3 T o turn the T ablet off 1.
T o charge the battery , you can connect the T ablet to the power supply through the power adapter , as shown in the following figure. 1.6 Keys Y ou access a variety of functions and shortcuts by using the physical keys in addition to buttons displayed on the touch screen.
− Press to open an opt ion menu with items relevant to the current screen or application. − Press and hold to op en the keyboard to perform quick se arch (only available on some screens). − If the screen unlock pattern has not been set, press to unlock the locked scre en.
Action Description Touch and hold Touch and hold an i tem on the screen until an action occurs. For example, you can usu ally touch and hold the s creen to open the context menu of the a ctive item. Drag Touch and hold an i tem, and then move your finger on the screen until you reach the target p osition.

T he pictures are provided only for reference . Y our Home screen and Applications screen might look a little different. For details, see the actual product. 1.8.2 Home screen extensions Flick your finger acro ss the Home Screen to go to the Home sc reen extensions.
− Shortcuts Add an application shortcut, a webpage bookmark, a favorite contact, a music playlist, and other items. − Widgets Add any of a variety of miniature widgets such as an analog clock, a calendar , a music player, a picture frame and many other items.
− T ouch Wallp apers to select a pictur e and set it as the wallpaper. T o rename a folder 1. Open a folder. Then touch and hol d the title bar of the folder wi ndow until the Rename folder dialog appears. 2. Enter a new name, and then touch OK . 1.
1.9.4 T o set unlock pattern T o set the unlock pattern, press th e Home key to go to the Home screen then press the Menu key , touch Settings > Locati on & sec urit y > Set up scree n lock > Pattern , and then follow the instructions on the screen .
− T ouch the DEL key to erase a character to the left of the cursor . T ouch and hold the DEL key to erase all characters to the left of the cursor. − T ouch the Symbols k ey (?123) to switch to the numbers and symbols keyboard, and touch the alphabet ke y (ABC) to switch back.
6. T ouch Cut or Copy . After you cu t or copy text, the text is s tored in a temporary area so th at you c an paste it i nto other text field. Before you ca n paste, you must have cut or copied text at least once. On ce you cut or copy text, you c an paste multiple times.
1.13 Setting date and time By default, the T ablet automatically uses the networ k provided date, time zone, and time . When the time provid ed by the network is automatically used, you cannot set the da te, ime, and time zone by yourself. t T o manually set date and time: 1.
T o remove the micro SD card, gen tly push the card in to the slot , then rele ase it. The will eject from the slot, and can then be removed . card 1.15 Connecting to or disconnecting from a computer using USB T o connect your T able t to a computer using USB: 1.
Do not connect the T ablet to a PC to charge the T ablet, as shown i n the following igure. Doing so ma y damage your T ablet and the PC . f 19.
2. T ouch T urn on USB storage in the dialog that opens to confirm that you want to transfer music, pictures, and other files between your T ablet storage or microSD card storage and the computer.
2. Select the TV’s correct program source fo r the HDMI interface. 2 Wireless networ ks Y our T ablet can connect to a variety of wireless networks and devi ces, including Wi-Fi data networks, Bluetooth d evices such as heads ets and mobile networks for voice and data transmission.
2.1.1 Opening Wi-Fi settings Y ou can turn Wi-Fi on or off, turn the open network notification on or off, connect to a Wi-Fi network and add Wi-F i networks in Wi-Fi settings list. T o open Wi-Fi settings list, do as follows . 1. Open the Settings li st.
n ame in the Wi-Fi networks list, to uch Forget , enter the corre ct WEP password and try again. When you are in r ange and Wi-Fi is on, you will automatically reconnect to available networks that you hav e connected to previously .
2.1.6 Forgetting a Wi-Fi network T o forget a Wi-Fi ne twork that you do no t want to connect to au tomatically or you no longer use when Wi-Fi is on, do as follows. 1. T ouch and hold a W i-Fi network you have connect ed to previously in the Wi-Fi networks list on the Wi-Fi settings scree n.
2.2.3 Changing the Bluetooth name of your T ablet T ablet The Bluetooth name of your T a blet is visible to other Blue tooth devices when you connect to them. When Bluetooth is on, do the following to change th e Bluetooth name of you r T ablet: 1. T ouch Device nam e in the Bluetooth settings list.
2.2.5 Disconnecting from or unp airing a Blue tooth device T o automatically disconnec t your T ablet from a paired device, simply turn o f f the device. T o manually disconnect your T ablet from a paired de vice or unpair this device to erase all th e pairing information about it, do the following: 1.
2. T ouch Wireless & netw orks , and then touch Mobile netw orks . 2.3.2 T urn Data roaming on or of f When Dat a roami ng is on, your T ablet can transmit and receive data over oth er carriers mobile networks when you leave your carriers mobile network servi ce area.
T o turn Airplane mode on or off, you can press and hold the Power key and tou ch Airplane mode in the menu that op ens. Y ou can also do as follows. 1. Open the Settings li st. 2. T ouch Wireless & netw orks , and touch Airplane mode to m ake it checked or unchecked.
T o use another accou nt, go to the Accounts & sync settings screen, and touch Add account to select which type of accounts you want to add. 3.2 Using Market Android Market provid es direct access to ap plications and games which you can download and install on your T ablet.
3.2.3 Uninstalling an Application 1. On the Market screen, touch My a pp s . 2. T ouch the applicati on you want to uninstall, and then touch Uninstall . 3. When prompted, to uch OK to remove the application fr om your T ablet. 4. Choose the reason for removing the application, and then touch OK .
4.1.2 T o navigate within a webpage The following tips help you to naviga te within a webpage. Flick your finger on the screen to scroll up and down. Flick your finger slightly on the screen to reveal the zoom control. T ouch the plus or minus side of the zoom contr ol to zoom in or out.
Browser recognizes li nks, as well as some phone numbers, addresse s, and similar information that you m ay want to act on directly . T o follow sho rtcuts for links, phone numbers, and addres ses, touch and hold a link to open a menu with shor tcuts for opening, adding to the bookmar k, saving, and sending the link via email.
4.2.2 T o open the bookmarks list T ouc h the bookm ark but ton to th e right o f the ad dress ba r of the br owser sc reen. Or press the Menu key and touch Bookmarks . 4.2.3 T o open a bookmark In the bookmarks list, touch a bookmark to open i t. The bookmark opens in the current window .
4.3.1 T o download and install only tru sted applications Y ou can download and install applications from the web or receive with an e mail message. Applications downloaded fro m the web can be from un known sources.

Email starts downloading your Email m essages and you can send and receive Email messages with this new account. 5.2.2 T o delete an email account 1. Open the Email scr een, press the Menu key and touch Account s .
5.3.2 T o receive email messages T o receive email me ssages, press the Menu key and tou ch Refresh after you log into th e email box. Y ou can also touch Account settings > Email check frequency to set the frequency for automati cally checking new email messages.

− T ouch a category of contact information, such as phone numb ers and email addresses, to enter that kind of information about your con tact. Flick up and down to view all categories. − T ouch the plus butto n to the right of a category to add more than one entry for that category .

Edit the contact information, using the same controls as when you create a contact. 8.4.2 T o set default phone number A default phone number appears belo w the name of the contact in the Contact s list, a nd this number can be used when you initiate a call or send a text message from the list by touching and holding a contact.
8.5 Editing favorite contact s 8.5.1 T o add a conta ct to favorites 1. Open Contacts . 2. T ouch and hold a c ontact to open the contexts menu, and touch Add to favorites . Y ou can also touch the gray star to the right of the contact name while viewing details of the contact.
9.2 Camera and Camcorder T ouch Camera or Camcorder on the Hom e screen or on the Applications screen to op en the camera or camcorder to take pictures or shoot video s. Be sur e to clea n the pr otect ive le ns cover with a mi crof iber c loth bef ore t akin g pictu res and shooting videos.
9.5.1 Opening Gallery T ouch Gallery on the Applications screen to open it. Gallery catego rizes yo ur pic tures an d videos by locat ion and st ores th ese fi les in fo lders.
− Drag a corner of the cropping tool to resize it with fi xed proportions. 4. T ouch Save to sa ve a copy of the picture that you cropped. The original uncropped version remains on your T ablet or microS D card. 9.5.6 Playing a Video T ouch the video yo u want to watch in Gallery to start playing the video.
10.3 Calculator T ouch Calculator on the Home screen or on the Applications screen to open the calculator to solve math problem s. Y ou can drag to switc h between basic and advanced panels, or press the Menu key and tou ch Advanced panel .
