1 Foreword This guide only applies to phones that are running EMUI 3.0. Please read this guide carefully before you start using the phone. All pictures and illustrati ons in this do cument are for your reference only. The actual product may vary . Features in this guide are fo r your refe rence only.
2 First-class functions Fingerprint ID Use your fingerprint to unlock the screen or enc rypt your private information. This function is available only on ph ones that have a fingerp rint sensor.
3 First-class functions using your fingerprint. If you skip this step, you can also enable this feature as follows: 1. On the home screen, touch Settings . 2. Touch Fingerpri nt ID . 3. Follow the onscreen instructions and enter your phone's unlock password.

To set the screen lock method, touch Settings on the home screen.

23 Getting started Editing text You can select, cut, copy, and paste text on your ph one. • Select text : Touch and hold the text to bring up . Then drag or to select more or less text, or touch Select all to select all text in the text box. • Copy text : Select text and touch Copy .
24 Calls and contacts Making a call Smart dialing Smart dialing lets you quickly find contac ts by entering parts of their names or numbers. 1. On the home screen, touch Dialer . 2. Under Dialer , enter the initials or fir st few letters of a contact's name, or part of the contact's phone number.

27 Calls and contacts Answering a third-part y call Before you answer a third -party call, make sure that you have turned on call waiting. 1. If a call comes in when you ar e already in another call, drag right to answer the new call and place the f irst call on hold.

47 Music and video Adding songs You can copy songs to your phone an d immerse yo urself in a world of extraordinary sound a nytime. Add songs to your phone by: • Copying songs from your com puter using the USB cable. For details, see MTP mode . • Downloading songs from the Internet.

55 Network and sharing Transferring data using Wi-Fi Direct Wi-Fi Direct allows two devices to connect to each other for dat a transmission without using any ac cess point. Connecting two devices using Wi-Fi Direct Before you use Wi-Fi Direct to connect two devices, ensure that you have turned on the Wi-Fi network connection on both devices.
