Getting Started 29 SIM card The SIM card contains y our phone number , service details, and phonebook/ message memory. Y our device supports both 1.8V and 3V SIM cards. Note Some legacy SIM cards may not function with your device. Y ou should consult with your service provider for a replac ement SIM card.
30 Getting Started Battery Y our device comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and is designed to use only manufacturer-specified original batteries and accessories.
Getting Started 31 T o install the battery Align the battery ’ s exposed copper contacts with the battery connectors inside the battery compar tment. Inser t the contacts-side of the battery first and then gently push the battery into place. Replace the back cover .
32 Getting Started T o install a microSD card Remove the battery if it is installed. Slide the microSD™ card holder down towar d the bottom of the device, and then flip it up . Inser t the microSD card int o the holder gold contacts-end first, and also with the gold contacts facing down.
Getting Started 33 As the battery is being charged while the power is on, a charging ic on appears in the title bar of the Home screen. After the battery has been fully charged, a full battery icon appears in the title bar of the Home screen.
34 Getting Started 1.5 Starting Up After installing your SIM card and batt ery and charging the battery, you can now power on and start using your device. T urn your device on and off T o turn on the power Press and hold the POWER butt on for a few seconds .
Getting Started 35 Auto c onfigure the data c onnection settings The first time you pow er on your device, y ou will see a notification message from C onnection Setup . Connection Setup automatically configures your device ’ s data connections, such as GPRS, W AP , and MMS, so that you do not need to enter the settings manually for your device .
36 Getting Started 1.6 Navigating On Y our Device There are diff erent way s you can navigate and in teract with the interface of your device. Finger-t ouch control A quick and easy way to inter act with the home screen and the whole interface of your device is by touch.
Getting Started 37 Slide Sliding on the touch screen also inv olves dragging with y our finger , but you need to press and hold your finger with some pr essure befor e you start to drag. While dragging, do not r elease your finger until you ha ve reached the target position.

T ouchFLO™ 75 Finger zooming The type of finger gesture to use when zooming varies in diff erent progr ams. T o zoom in on a web page in Opera Mobile, tap your finger twice on the screen. 100 Exchanging Messages 6.1 Messaging Messaging is a central location where y ou will find all types of messaging accounts, which include text messages (SMS), multimedia messages (MMS), and e -mail accounts.

Exchanging Messages 105 6.3 MMS Sending multimedia messages (MMS) to your friends and family is fun and easy . Y ou can include pictures, videos, and audio clips in a multimedia message. Notes • Multimedia messaging is a charged service and has to be provisioned on your mobile phone account.

110 Exchanging Messages T o block a phone number from sending you MMS messages If you do not want to receiv e MMS messages from a particular sender , you can add the sender’ s phone number to the MMS Blacklist. 1. When you receiv e a new MMS message, open and view the message.

114 Exchanging Messages T o customize download and forma t settings Before you tap F inish when setting up your POP3 or IM AP4 e-mail account, you can tap the Review all download settings link at the bottom of the scr een to choose download options, message format , and other settings.
