Media Center Extender User ’ s Guide System Requirements The Media Center Exten der has the followi ng system requirements: Must have an HP Media Center PC or HP Digita l E ntertainment Center running Wi ndows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
Media Center Extender T ools Three tools are available for you to maintain the Medi a Center Extender and mon itor its performance. These tools are installed onto the HP Media Cent er PC or HP Digital Entertainment Center .
Windows Media Center ST ART button The W indows Media Center ST ART button is a green butto n located on the front panel of the M edia Center Extender . Press the button to displa y the Media Center Sta rt page on the Media Center Extender . No matter what page you are viewing, you can press the button to r eturn to the Start page.
T roubleshooting The Media Center Exten der might display an error co de on screen such as the following pictu re: If this screen appears, the number in the triangle on the l ower-left corner will be a 1, 2, 3, or 4. Use the following table to determine what the error means an d action you need to take to correct the error .
