Modify ing the FC domain ID (optional) If desir ed, y ou can modify the FC domain ID. T he default FC domain ID is domain 1 . If the 4Gb S AN S witc h is not pow ered on until after it is connected t o the fabr ic and the defa ult FC dom ain ID is alr ea dy in use , the domain ID for the new s witc h is automaticall y r eset to a uni que value .
Disabling and e nabling a s w itch By de fau lt, t h e sw itch is enabled after po wer on and diagno stic s and s wi tch initiali z ation r outines complete .
Using Dynamic P orts On Demand (D P OD) In the past , P o rts On D emand (POD) f unctionality was s tatic. A pre set group of ports were i nd ivid u ally enabled per eac h POD licens e. In contras t, the new DP OD functionality does not r equire a pr ede fi ned assignment o f ports.
