Using the HDMI port cont rols (select models only) The right side of you r computer may contain an HDMI port and volume control buttons. Un less a device is plugge d into the HDMI port, the volume controls have no function ality.

Cleaning the keyboar d and mouse When cleaning the keyboard ke ys, use a low setting on a battery-power ed vacuum cleaner, to avoid removing key cap s and springs. 1. Vacuum between the keys of the keybo ard and along the grooves. 2. Use a clean, dry cloth and iso propyl (rubbing) alcoho l to clean buildup on the keyboard keys and along its edges.
5 Troubleshooting Refer to the documentation p rovided by the p roduct manufacturer for information about peripheral-specific problems, such as issues with a monitor or a printer. Th e following tables prese nt some issues you might encounter while installin g, starting up, or us ing your computer and possible solutions.
Symptom Possible solution Computer seems to be locked up and is not resp onding. Use the Task Manager to close any pr ograms not respond ing, or restart th e computer: 1. Press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on the keyboard simultaneously. 2. Select Task Manager .
Power Symptom Possible solution Computer does not turn off when the Power button is pressed . Press and hold the Power button u ntil the computer tu rns off. Check Power Settings. Compute r shuts down automatically. ● The computer might be in an exceedingl y hot enviro nment.
Keyboard and mouse (general) Symptom Possible solution Keyboard commands and typing are not recognized by th e computer. Use the mouse to tur n off the computer, unp lug and reconne ct the keyboard to the back of your computer, and then r estart your computer.
Keyboard and mouse (wireless) Symptom Possible solution Wireless keyboard or mouse does not work or is not detected. ● Ensure that you are using the wireless keyboard or wireless mouse with in range of the receiver, approximately 3 meters (10 f eet) for normal u se, and within 30 cm (12 inches) during initial setup or for re -synchronization.
Speakers and sound Symptom Possible solution No sound is produced. 1. From the Start screen, type c , select Control Panel , and then select System a nd Security . 2. Under Action Center , select Troubleshoo t common computer probl ems , and then select Troubleshoo t audio playback .
