2 Getting Started Attaching the Wrist Strap Follow these instructions to attach the wrist strap to your camera to better protect your new camera: Insert the smaller loop of the strap in the str ap 1. eyelet. Thread the larger loop of the strap though the short 2.

19 Using Shooting Functions Shooting Image Taking Photos T urn on the camera by pressing the 1. Power button. By doing this, your camer a is also set to shooting mode. Frame the shot using the focus br acket on the 2. LCD monitor . See Image 1. Press the shutter button half -w ay down.
20 To activate Stabilizer Press the • Stabilizer button on top of your camera to enable/disable stabiliz er . If Stabilizer is enabled, the stabilizer icon is displayed on the LCD monitor and the ISO setting is automatically set to Auto.

22 Auto. The fl ash fi res automatically whenever extra lighting is needed. Red-eye reduction. The fl ash fi res twice to reduce the red-eye eff ect. Forced on. The fl ash fi res whenever you press the shutter but ton regardless of lighting conditions.
23 Y our camer a supports the four focus modes: Normal. With normal focus, the focus r ange starts from .8 meters (~ 2 ½ feet). When the camer a is set to normal mode, there is no icon displayed on the screen. Macro. This mode is designed for close-up photography .
24 Using the Function Menu The hot key of “heart” ( FUNC button) is used for a quick setup of the latest six shooting modes (Y ou may choose Special Scene, Video , V oice REC in Shooting Mode Menu) and to adjust capturing settings in Shooting Mode.
25 Resolution The Resolution setting is used to set the r esolution before you capture the image. The higher the resolution, the more memory space is required. A2 Size N 12M A WB ISO AUTO 12M 8M 3M 5M 3:2 16:9 0 EV The maximum resolution option for CB350 is 12M.
26 White Balance The White Balance setting allows you to adjust the image color temperature accor ding to the ambient light condition when recording the still images and video. Auto N 8 M A WB ISO AUTO A WB 0 EV Icon Item Description Auto The camera automatically adjusts the white balance.
27 ISO The ISO function lets you adjust the ISO sensitivity in recording still images depending on the lightning levels of your surroundings. Use a higher ISO setting in dim conditions and a • lower ISO setting in brighter conditions.
28 Color Mode The Color Mode function lets you recor d still images or video and apply different colors or tones f or a more artistic effect Tinting an images color can make them appear more vivid. As you move through the selection, the pr eview on • the LCD monitor changes synchronously .
29 Shooting Menu If you are in shooting mode, you can access the Shooting menu simply by pr essing the MENU button on your camer a. When the menu is displayed, use the 4-w ay navigation control and the OK button to mo ve through menu selections and apply your desired settings.

31 Icon Item Description Sunset This feature enhances the red hue for r ecording sunset images. Shaded gray This feature is used to capture the image of a backlight object by changing the metering. Kids This feature is used to capture still images of children.
32 Icon Item Description Soft Flowing W ater This feature enhances smooth effects lik e water or silk. Food This f eature is used to capture food images. The increased saturation in this mode makes the captured image more enticing. Building This feature enhances the edges of captured images.
33 Using Smile Capture Mode - The Smile Capture mode uses smile tracking to automatically capture images. This f eature is most useful in capturing differ ent angles and smiles of moving people. When capturing an image with more than one person, the camera detects the smile of the closest person on the center of the screen.
34 307 307 8 M Intelligent scene icon. After the camera detects the shooting conditions, this icon changes to show the detected scene mode. Face tracking is automatically enabled. T o activate Intelligent Scene Select 1. from the Scene Mode submenu. Focus the camer a on the subject to capture.

36 Using Blink Detection Mode - The Blink Detection mode tracks faces and determines captur ed image that contain subjects with closed eyes. After shooting, when the camera detects that the subject blink ed an eye, a menu selection appears to ask the user whether to save the image or not.
37 Using Aperture Priority Mode - With Aperture Priority mode, users can adjust the aperture v alue and the camera automatically sets the shutter speed to match the brightness.
38 Using Manual Exposure Mode - With Manual Exposure mode, users can manually adjust the shutter speed and the aperture value. T o activate Manual Exposure Select 1.
39 Setting the Self-Timer/Burst Y our camer a features a Self - Timer and Burst which can be set in the S elf - Timer/Burst function in the Shooting Menu. The Self - Timer allows you to take photos after a pre-defi ned delay . While burst lets you take consecutive shots.
40 Setting the AEB AEB stands for Automatic Exposure Br acketing. This feature captures the same image with 3 different exposure set tings. The settings are recorded in the f ollowing order: standard exposure, under exposure, and • over exposure. Av ailable settings are: [On] and [Off ].

50 D i s p l a y OK Scroll bar . If scroll bars appear , it indicates that the screen can be scrolled. Thumbnail view Thumbnail icons When you view the thumbnails, some images may contain icons. 51 Zooming images The zoom view function works with still images only . In medium view , press the • T button repeatedly until the desired zoom view . The 4 arrows on the LCD monitor indicate that the image is zoomed in. • Press the • Play button to close zoom view .

53 Playing Voice Recording Set the camera to Playback mode. 1. Use the navigation controls to scroll through the 2. saved images. When viewing a voice recor ding fi le, the LCD monitor displays the screen layout of Audio clips. See picture on the right.

56 View Slideshow The view slideshow function allows you to view all stored photos/videos in still image format in a continuous sequence. T o view slideshow: From the Playback menu, select View Slideshow . 1. The Slideshow menu appears. Set the slideshow settings.
57 T o delete a photo/video/audio clip: From the Playback menu, select 1. Delete . The Delete submenu is displayed on the LCD 2. monitor . Select available set tings: • This image. Select one fi le to delete. • Voice Memo Only. Delete only the attached voice memo, the image is retained in the memory .
58 Remove Red Eyes The function is used to reduce red ey e in captured images. This function is only av ailable for still images. It can be applied to an image several times, but the quality may gr adually deteriorate. Set the camera to Playback mode.
59 Voice Memo The V oice Memo function allows you to recor d and attach a voice memo to a saved image. Y ou can recor d a maximum of 30 seconds of V oice memo per image. This function is only available in still images. T o record voice memo: Set the camera to Playback mode.
60 Modify Color The function lets you adjust edit still images to apply differ ent colors or tones for a more artistic effect. An edited photo in this function is sa ved as a new fi le. Set the camera to Playback mode. 1. Press the 2. or key to scroll and select an image to edit.
61 Neg . Negative Image appears to be the opposite of the original image. Mosaic Image is saved with mosaic tiles. R Vivid Red Image is sav ed with reddish tint. G Vivid Green Image is saved with greenish tint. B Vivid Blue Image is saved with bluish tint.
62 Crop The function allows you to trim an image to another image size. This function is only av ailable for still images. T o trim an image: Set the camera to Playback mode. 1. Use the 2. or key to scroll and select an image to trim. Press the 3. MENU button to launch the Playback menu.
63 Resize The Resize f unction allows you to change the image resolution of large images to smaller ones. This function is only av ailable for still images. T o resize an image: Set the camera to Playback mode. 1. Use the key to scroll and select an image to 2.
64 DPOF The Digital Print Order Format (DPOF) f unction allows you to mark image in your memory card for printing and allows you to specif y the number of copies that you want to print at a later date. When all images to be printed are marked, take the memory card to a digital printing service, or use a DPOF compatible printer .
65 PictBridge The PictBridge function allows you to print images captured by your camer a without connecting the camera to a PC. Print images with a PictBridge compatible printer directly . T o activate PictBridge: Connect your camera to a PictBridge compatible printer using the USB cable.
