1 Introduction HP Bluetooth® Active Noise Cancel lation Stereo Headp hones allow you to wirelessly conn ection to an audio device. Active noise cancellation reduce s unwanted ambient sound, such as the noise in a crowded airport.

Before you begin Before you set up your headphone s, read this sectio n to dete rmine the most appropriate connection for your computer or audio device.

Left-side components Component Description (1) Bluetooth switch ● When the headphones are off, slide the switch down to turn on the headphones and activate Bluetooth. ● When the headphones are on, slide the switch up to turn off the headphones and deactivate Bluetooth.
Right-side components Component Descript ion (1) Volume down button Decreases headphone volume. (2) Previous/rewind button Plays the previous track of a CD or the previous chap ter of a DVD. (3) Mini-USB port Connects a mini-USB cable for charging. (4) Headphone status light ● On: The headphones are turned on a nd Bluetooth is activated.

3 Charging the headphones and Bluetooth adapter (select models only) Before you can use the he adphones with the provided Bluetooth adapter (sele ct models only), you must charge both the headph ones and the Bluetooth ad ap ter. The headph ones can be charged fro m the USB port on your comput er or the provided AC adapter ( select mode ls only).
4. Plug the USB connecto r into the USB port on the AC adapter or comp uter (5) . 5. If you are using the AC adapter, plug the AC adap ter into an AC outlet. WARNING ! To reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to the equipmen t, plug the AC adapter into an AC outlet that is easily accessible at all times.
While the headphone s and Bluetooth adapter are cha rging through the USB port o n your computer, you can use the audio line-in cable with the headphones to liste n to computer audio. For instructions on using the headphones this way, see the Chapter 4 , “Using the headphon es with the audio line-in cable .
4 Using the headphones with the audio line-in cable To use the headp hones with the audi o line-in cable, follow these steps: 1. Make sure that th e Bluetooth switch and the noise cancellation switch ar e in the off position, with no red indicato r visible at the open en d of the switch.
5 Using the headphones with the enclosed Bluetooth adapter (provided with select models only) Before using the headphones, be sure that the headphones and provided Blu etooth adapter (select models only) are charged. To use the head phones with the Bl uetooth adapter, follow the se steps: 1.
2. When the hea dphones and Bluetoo th adapter are bei ng used for the first time, slide the pairing switch to turn on pair ing. In sub sequent u ses, pairing does no t need to be tu rned on. 3. Plug the Bluetooth a dapter into the a udio-out (hea dphone) jack of your a udio device, such as a computer, m obile phone, or MP3 player (1) .
6 Using the headphones with a Bluetooth- enabled computer NOTE: To determine whether your compute r is Bluetooth-enab led, look for the Blueto oth icon in the notification area at the far right of the taskb ar on the compu ter screen. Before using the headphones, be sure that the following con ditions are met: ● The headphones are cha rged.

4. On the Devices tab, click Add . 5. Click My device is set up and ready to be found , and then click Next . 6. When the headp hones icon is di s played on th e screen , click HP Bluetooth Audio Enthus iast Headphone , and then click Next . 7. Click Don't use a passkey , and then cl ick Next .

To pair the headpho nes using Windows® XP, follow these steps: 1. Slide the Bluetooth switch lo cated on the left ear cup to tu rn on the headphon es and activate Bluetooth.

7 Terminating the headphone wireless connection When you finish usin g the headphones, you should terminate the wirel ess connection with your computer or audi o device. Choose one of the followin g two sections and follow the steps for terminating the connection with the Bluetooth adapt er or with a Blueto oth-enabled d evice.
Terminating a wireless co nnection with the enclosed Bluetooth adapter (select models only) To terminate th e connection, comple te the following steps: 1. Slide the Bluetooth switch located on the left ear cup to turn off the headphones and deactivate Bluetooth.
