FRIDGE FREEZER - MODELS RF A80, RF A70,RF A60,RFS60 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INST ALLA TION & USE GET TING ST AR TED: T o ensure that your fridge freezer runs r eliably and efficientl y follow these steps.
F or Y our Safety For y our safety , read the following advic e: The fridge freezer cooling syst em contains a small amount of gas which is environmen tally fr iendly but flammable . T o a void any risk :- Install the fridge freezer follo wing the installation instruc ti ons and ensure that ventilation openings ar e k ept clear of obstruction.
Installation Location & Air Cir culation Locate y our fridge freezer away from sourc es of heat e.g. cookers, radiators, direct sunlight as extreme temperatur e will affect its per f or mance . Allow a minimum 100mm (4 inches) between the top of the fridge freezer and the ceiling or the underside of a wall cupboard .
Installation Lev elling: Lev el the fr idge freez er when it is in its final location by adjusting the front feet, until firm contact is made with the floor . This will st op rock ing or vibration and keep the doors aligned which helps the fridge freezer run reliably and e fficiently .
Installation Electrical Supply W ARNING: This appliance must be earthed. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is acc essible af ter installation. Fu se s Y our appliance comes fitted with a plug and a 13A fuse. If you need to replace the fuse, only use those rated at 13A and AST A approved t o BS1362.
C ontrols Con trolling the T emperature of the F ridge Compartment The left hand control wheel on the front panel adjusts the int ernal fr idge compartment temperature. The internal temper ature should be 5˚C or colder , although some sections such as the salad bin will be slightly w armer .
C ontrols 7 CONTROLS Indicator Lights Green Mains Light The green mains light will sta y on as long as the elec tricity supply is not interrupted . Amber F ast Freez e Light The amber fast freeze light indica tes that the fast freeze button has been pressed on.
C ontrols 8 F ast Freeze Butt on - Freezing F resh Food The top compartment (the top two on Model RF A70), with or without the draw ers, should be used to freeze fresh f ood.
Useful A dvice 9 Note: The Rating Plate , which lists the appliance Model Number and Serial Number can be found near the bottom of the fridge compartment on the interior wall.
Making the best use of your Fridge F reezer T o ensure that your fridge freezer operates as efficien tly as possible : F ollow food packaging “best before/use by” instruc tions or y our suppliers advice on a suitable maximum storage time . Keep foods tightly co vered to retain moisture and prev ent flavo ur/odour transferenc e.
Useful A dvice 11 USEFUL ADVICE Advic e on Adjusting Shelv es Make the most of the interior storage space by repositioning shelv es to suit the various heights of individual items y ou wish to store . Note : Only the front half of the shelf can be repositioned, the back half must remain in its original position.
Salad Bins F or the storage of fruit, vegetables and salad items . When storing vegetables , remove unusable lea ves and soil. Lea ve l ettuce, cabbage and cauliflower on the stem. It is advisable to clean the salad bin regularly , it can be remov ed by sliding it out from position.
Useful A dvice 13 Storing F ood in a Freezer F reeze and store either fr esh food or long term commercially fro zen foods. Generally speaking long term storage means up to 3 months but this can vary , so alway s follow y our supplier ’ s recommendations other wise ref er to the pictorial guide on the door liner (as shown, right).
Useful A dvice 14 Advic e on Using F reezer Draw ers The freezer c ompartments can be used with or without the drawer s. However , t he bottom draw er needs to remain in position at all times (to maintain the correct storage tempera ture).
Defrosting 15 Defrosting Fr idge compartment No manual defrosting required The fridge compartment will defrost automatically . During defros t periods water droplets form on the interior back wall of y our Fridge and refr eeze afterwards. W ARNING: Ensure that stored f ood does not come into contact with the int erior back wall of your F ridge.
Cleaning 16 Cleaning W ARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out mains plug before cle aning . Interior Note : W e recommend you use a straw to k eep the defrost gutter d rain hole clear of any blockage. DO NO T use sharp metal tools which could cause damage beyond repair .
Going A way If you are going awa y and don’t w ant to use your fridge freezer , switch off electricit y supply and pull out the mains plug. Remove f ood and follow the cleaning instructions on the previous page. Note : L ea v e the do ors ajar to pre vent an accumulation of odours .
Door Reversal Y ou will need a cross head screwdriver , a flat blade screwdriv er and a 5mm spanner to carr y out this proc edure. Our Ser vice Department can arrange for an Engineer to do the con version for you but a charge will be made. W ARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out the mains plug.
Door Reversal c ontinued... Refit Low er D oor 12. T ak e off the two scr ew covers from the left hand centre panel and remo ve the two screws. Fit these scr ews and covers over on the right ha nd side . 13. F it the centre hinge on the left hand side with the original screws, cover the screws with the original cov ers.

T roubleshooting The freez er door is difficult to open A well sealed freezer door can be difficult to open. This is par tly due t o the difference in t emperature between the room and internal freezer c ompar tment. If you hav e just closed the freezer door , it maybe particularly difficult to open again immediately .
