Intr oduction Please read and f ollow these instructions carefully and operate the machine accordingly . This booklet provides impor tant guidelines f or saf e use, installation, maintenance and useful advice f or best results when using your machine.
General delivery notes Please check that the f ollowing items are deliv ered with the appliance: – Instruction manual – Guarantee card – Blanking plug – Inlet hoses & brac ket – Base panel & x2 push clips Check that no damage has occurred during transit.
K) When moving the appliance nev er lift it by the controls , the detergent dra wer , the hoses or the power cab le. T o avoid damaging the door when mo ving the appliance nev er rest the door against objects e.
Remov e the machine from the packaging - close to where it will finally be positioned - and proceed as f ollows: On the back of the machine 1) Remov e the central screw A and side screws B and pull out the tr ansit brac ket C along with the red locator .
Note: we recommend y ou keep the transit bracket and screws to pr otect the machine f or future transit. The Manufacturer s will not be responsible for an y damage to the machine caused b y not follo wing the instructions relating to releasing the transit pr otection.
W ater supply requirements Connect the machine to the drainage system used b y household sinks. 8 THIS MA CHINE MUST BE CONNECTED IN A CCORD ANCE WITH THE W A TER SUPPL Y REGULA TIONS. W A TER BYELA WS PR OHIBIT CONNECTION T O A SURF A CE W A TER DRAIN.
T esting the installation Ref er to the programme guide f or details of how to select programmes. 1. T ur n on the water supply and chec k for leaks from fill hoses . 2. Switch on the electricity supply . 3. Select a spin programme and then press the on/off b utton to star t the machine.
T o ensure the dr um is thoroughly clean after testing and storage , select programme 1 and run the machine f or a complete cycle using only wash detergent and water . If the machine is not to be used immediately , s witch off the mains power supply and remov e the plug from the power soc ket.

Description of Contr ols All the controls on your product’ s control panel are listed as f ollows . The button functions are selected when the buttons are pressed in. Carefully read the rele vant descriptions detailed below: On/Off After selecting the programme press the on/off b utton to star t the machine.
The tables in the w ashing section descr ibe the v ar ious prog rammes and illustrate the number or symbol to select f or them. 13 Note: this model is fitted with an electr onic “sensor” device that c hecks the load is balanced correctl y .
– the third, labelled “ ” is f or special additives , fabric softeners, frag rances, starch, brighteners etc. The machine is programmed to automatically tak e up additives during the final rinse stage for all w ash cycles.
Special detergents – Detergents for coloureds and delicates, without added bleach, also often without any optical brightening agents, to preserve the colour . – Detergents for a thor ough wash, without added bleach or enzymes, par ticularly suitable f or handling woollen fibres.
The amount of detergent to use depends on: - water hardness , depending on the hardness of the water and the type of detergent used, it is possible to reduce the amount of detergent.
17 Pr ogramme selector The washing machine has diff erent programme groups according to type of w ash, temperature, spin speeds and dur ation for handling the v ar ious types of f abric and their le vel of soiling (see wash prog ramme guide). 1. CO TT ONS The programmes are designed f or maximum washing and rinsing.
Main wash A uto half load The washing machine is fitted with a self adjusting w ater lev el system. This system enables the machine to use the optim um amount of water needed to wash and rinse the laundr y in relation to the par ticular load.
Sor ting the laundry – It is recommended you w ash only items which are washable with w ater and detergent and not dr y-clean items . – If you need to w ash r ugs , bedspreads or other heavy items, it is best not to spin them.
Note: when sor ting laundry – check there are no metal objects in the laundr y (such as paper clips, saf ety pins, pins, coins etc...); In the e vent of a machine f ailure dur ing the warranty period and f oreign objects are f ound to be the cause of the f ailure a labour charge ma y be made for the call out of an engineer .
Putting detergent in machine D) Open the dra wer , choose the detergent and put in the correct amount, according to the manuf acturer’ s instr uctions and the detergent advice on page 13. Add any other laundry aids (see page 14). Close the drawer again.

24 P oints to consider: When washing hea vily soiled laundr y it is recommended the load is reduced by about 1-1.5 kg. By doing so the laundr y is allowed to circulate more freely . Energy label data based on programme 2 tested in accordance with EN60456.
Cleaning and r outine maintenance Do not use alcohol-based scourers and/or thinners on the outside of your washing machine , just a wipe with a damp cloth will suffice. The washing machine needs very little maintenance: – Cleaning the dra wer compar tments.
T ransporting or storing the appliance f or long periods when appliance is not in use If the appliance is being transpor ted or is out of use f or long per iods in unheated places , all remaining water must be completely remo ved from all hoses.
27 T r ouble shooting What might be the cause of... Defects y ou can remedy y ourself Bef ore calling GIAS Ser vice f or technical advice please run through the follo wing checklist. A charge will be made if the machine is f ound to be wor king or has been installed incorrectly or used incorrectly .
It is unlikely that water will be visib le in the drum! This is due to the latest technology that achie ves the same standar d of washing and rinsing b ut with far less water consumption.
P o wer failure If there is a power f ailure the wash cycle will be interrupted, the wash prog ramme and functions will be suspended. When the power is restored, the w ash programme and functions will re-star t from the same point and complete the programme .
