If you see any of these indi cat ions, the airbags a nd seat belt tensioners may not w ork pr operly w hen you need them. I f the i nd ic ato r co mes o n at any ot her t ime, or does not come on at a ll, you sho uld have t he system checked by you r dealer.

− − − Child ren depend o n adults t o protect them. However, despite t heir best int ent ions, many a dult s do not know how to protect child passengers. If yo u have children, o r ev er need to driv e wit h a child in your ve hicle, be sure t o r ead t his sec tion.

− If they do, they could be v ery ser iously injur ed in a crash. If you are not w earing a sea t be lt in a cr as h, you could be thrown f orward an d crus h the child aga inst t he dashboa rd or a seat-b ack. If you are weari ng a sea t be lt, t he child ca n be t orn f rom yo ur arms and b e seri ou sl y hurt or k illed.
