SPECIAL FEATURES 27 SPECIA L FEAT URES DEGA USSING Magnetis m from nearby appliances mi ght affect the color of the T V picture. If this happens, move this unit away from the appliance. If the color is still not correct, disconnect pow er cord from AC outlet then reconnect i t after 30 minutes.

TV OPERATION 30 PICTURE CONTROL The TV/VCR's picture controls - BRIGHT, CONTRA ST, COLOR, TINT and SHA RPNESS - are preset to the factory specification. This i s usually best, but if you need to make any f urther adjustments adjust picture contr ols for a natural looki ng image.

NORMAL PLAY BACK 34 PICTURE SE ARCH This feature is useful in finding or skipping ov er a particular scene on a tape. In this mode, the sound will be muted. 1) You may view a video tape at a hi gh speed in either a forw ard or rev erse direction by pressing F.

SPECIAL PLAYBACK 36 REPEA T PLA YBA CK The TV/VCR has an auto repeat function that allow s you to repeat a tape indefinitely without using the PLAY button. There are tw o selections for Auto Repeat Play back. A LL REPEA T: repeat playback from the beg inning to the end of the tape.
SEARCH 37 SEA RCH Make sure... • You must use the remote control for the f o llowing steps. • Power must be tur ned on. • Insert a tape. COUNTER MEMORY This feature can be used to memoriz e a beginning point that you w ant to revi ew. And you can sear ch fo r it easily by rewi nding or fast forwarding .
SEARCH 38 TIME SEARCH The Time Search function makes it possible to qui ckly advance the tape to your desi red position from any position by enteri ng the exact amount of playback ti me of the part you want to skip. NOTES: • Time Search is set up to 9 hours 50 mi nutes (9:50) by 10 mi nutes at a time.
SEARCH 39 • The index mark will be made automatically w hen the REC button is pressed. It will also be marked at the starting point of Timer recording and OTR. • The index mark is not recorded if the PAUSE/STILL button is pressed and released duri ng recording .
SEARCH 40 Press REW or F.FW D button. The TV/VCR begins r ewinding or fa st forwardi ng then goes into the Play mode at the beginning of desired progr am. NOTE: Every time an index sig nal is skipped, the number i n the program indicator decr eases by one.
RECORDING 41 RECORDING Make sure... • Power must be tur ned on. • Insert a cassette tape wi th its erase preventi on tab in place. (If necessary, rew ind or fast forward the tape to the point at w hich you w ant to begin recordin g.) NORMA L RECORDING You can only watch the same TV progr am that is being r ecorded.
RECORDING 42 • To prevent tape damage, after five minutes, the TV/VCR will automatically return to the Recor ding mode. • W hen in the Pause/Still m ode, a display show ing 5 " " ma rks will appear on the screen. Each " " mark repr esents one minute of Pause time.
RECORDING 43 • Recording stops when 0:00:00 is reached. • Please note that in the SLP mode max imum recording time, assuming the tape is started at the beg inning, is 8 hour s using T-160 (or 6 hours usi ng T- 120).
RECORDING 44 COPYING A VIDEO CA SSETTE (Requires another VCR) Connect your TV/VCR and a Source (Play ing) VCR using the followi ng diagr am. 1) Insert a pre- recorded video cassette i nto the Source (Playi ng) VCR. 2) Insert a blank v ideo cassette, or one y ou want to record ov er, into the TV/VCR's cassette compartment.

TIME R 48 Press POW ER button to set automatic timer recor ding. The REC indicator l ights up. • You must turn off the TV/VCR to activate automatic timer recording. If power is not turned off and you continue w atching TV, "TIMER REC STANDBY" starts flashing on the TV screen 2 minutes before the progr ammed start time.
TIME R 49 Press MENU button repeatedly to point to "GU IDE CH". Press SELECT button. 3 Select a gui de channel number (GUIDE) that you are prog ramming a user channel number Press SELECT button to forwar d to the next or press ADD /DELETE button to go back one step.
TIME R 50 If the channel you w ish to check is not on the TV screen, press SELECT or ADD/DELETE button repeatedl y to change the displ ayed page. 3) Press MEN U button to return to the TV mode. VCR PLUS+ TIMER RE CORDING You can prog ram the timer using the VCR Plus numbers that are pr inted in most newspaper TV listings and TV guide.

TIME R 54 SLEEP TIMER The Sleep Timer function makes the TV/VCR turn off without using the POW ER button af ter a desired time period. Press SLEEP button on the remote control repeatedly until your desired sl eep time appears. Each additional push will increase the on time by 30 minutes.
