6 6. Hourly Heat Load The hourly heat load serves as the guide in selecting equipment. It is found by dividing the nal BTU/24 hour load by the desired condensing unit run time . 35ºF . rooms with no timer 16 hr . 35ºF . rooms with timer 18 hr . Blast coolers/F reezers with positive defrost 18 hr .
