– Do not mow ex cessi v ely steep slopes . – Exercise extreme caution when on slopes . – Mow across the face of slopes , never up and down and exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes . – Alwa ys be sure of your footing on slopes .
Safety and Instructional Decals Important: Safety and instr uction decals are located near areas of potential danger . Replace damaged decals. Manufacturer ’ s Mark 1. Indicates the blade is identied as a part from the original machine manufacturer .
Setup Unfolding the Handle 1. Unlock the handle locks , mov e the handle sections into the operating position, and lock the handle locks (Figure 3). Figure 3 2. Unlock the upper handle loc ks and rotate the upper handle upward and lock it into a position that is comfortable to you (Figure 4).
Installing the Fuse (Model 447E Only) Y our mo wer comes with a 40-amp fuse that protects the electric star ter . Important: Y ou cannot start the mower with the electric star ter or charge the batter y unless y ou install the fuse. 1. R emov e the battery co ver and the battery and locate the fuse holder (Figure 7).

T o bag the grass clippings , install the grass bag (refer to Installing the Grass Bag) and mo v e the R ecycling/bag ging lev er to the bagging mode (Figure 18). Installing the Grass Bag Raise and hold up the rear door , install the bag, and low er the rear door (Figure 19).
