Setup Important: R emov e and discard the protectiv e plastic sheet that cov ers the engine. Unfolding the Handle 1. Mov e the handle rearward and hold the upper handle in place (Figure 2). Figure 2 2. Tighten the upper handle knob as tight as y ou can (Figure 3).

Install the Mulch Plug or Grass Bag Y ou must cor rectly install the mulch plug (for mulc hing or side-disc harging) or the grass bag (for bag ging), or the engine will not star t .

Checking the Engine Oil Level Ser vice Inter v al: Before eac h use or daily 1. R emov e the dipstic k, wipe it clean, and fully install the dipstic k (Figure 17).

T raveling Forward T o operate the auto-driv e, simply w alk with your hands on the upper handle and your elbo ws at your sides, and the mow er will automatically k eep pace with y ou (Figure 25 and Figure 26).
Collecting Grass Use the grass bag when y ou want to collect g rass and leaf clippings from the lawn. If the side discharge chute is on the mow er, remov e it and loc k the side discharge door (refer to R emoving the Side Discharge Chute) before bag ging the clippings .

Removing the Side Discharge Chute T o remove the side discharge chute, reverse the steps abov e. Important: Lock the side discharge door after y ou close it (Figure 38). Figure 38 Operating T ips Cutting Grass • Cut only about a third of the grass cutterblade at a time.
