1 W elcome to W heel of F ortune Classic . All the fun of the original in a gr eat new size! Befor e you start to pla y , ther e are a few things y ou should know .
2 CONTROL GUIDE LCD SCREEN - displa ys game information and puzzles ON/OFF - turns game on and off SOUND - turns sound off and on PLA YER/SCORE - used to scroll thr ough play ers at the start of the game and to check scor es during play PUZZLE CA T .
3 INSERTING THE BA TTERIES Using a Philips ® scr ewdriver , loosen the scr ews in the battery compartment doors on the bottom of the unit. Remove the door s. Insert four (4) AAA batteries, two (2) in each side, making sur e to align the “+” and “-” signs.
4 T o ensure pr oper function • Do not mix old and new batteries • Do not mix alkaline, standar d or rechar geable batteries • Battery installation should be done b y an adult • Non-r echar ge.
5 PLA YING THE GAME LET’S PLA Y 1. Pr ess ON/OFF . T he theme music will begin playing and the scr een will display , WELCOME T O WHEEL OF FORTUNE. T o mo ve past this screen, pr ess ENTER . The MAXIMUM SCORE r ecorded on y our game unit will be display ed.
4. T he screen will change to displa y the blank lines of the puzzle. T he USED LETTER BO ARD will be displa yed in the low er right-hand side. T he number of the pla y er whose turn it is will be displa yed in the PLA YER field in the low er left-hand side.
If the letter you guessed is in the puzzle, you will hear a bell and the letter will appear in its pr oper place or places in the puzzle. T he dollar amount awar ded for the spin is the value of the wheel segment multiplied b y the number of times the letter appears in the puzzle.
8 T o buy a vowel, pr ess BUY . Use the keypad to choose a vow el – “ A, ” “E, ” “I, ” “O” or “U. ” As on the TV show , “Y” is not considered a vow el in this game. If you bought a vow el that is in the puzzle, you will hear a bell and the vowel will appear in its pr oper place or places.
9 6. W hen the puzzle has been solved, the round is ov er . T he unit will display the cumulativ e score for each pla yer . 7. Round 2 and Round 3 ar e pla y ed in the same wa y as Round 1. Player 2 starts Round 2 and Pla yer 3 starts Round 3. If there ar e only two (2) pla yers, Pla yer 1 will start Round 3.
10 SPEED-UP ROUND If ther e is a tie between tw o or mor e pla yer s at the end of thr ee r ounds, a speed-up round is pla yed to determine who goes to the Bonus Round. SPEED-UP ROUND will flash on scr een, along with the pla yer numbers of those participating in the r ound.
BONUS ROUND T he play er with the highest cumulative scor e at the end of three r ounds gets to play the BONUS ROUND . Only one play er plays in this r ound. NO TE: If the computer pla yer has the most money at the end of thr ee rounds, NO BONUS ROUND WILL BE PLA YED .
12 BONUS ROUND 5. Use the KEYP AD to type the missing letters in the puzzle. W hen you hav e finished, pr ess ENTER . If you ar e corr ect, the “audience” will applaud. The prize v alue “hidden” behind the letter you chose at the beginning of the r ound will be r evealed and added to y our cumulative total.
SPECIAL WHEEL SEGMENTS Some wheel segments hav e a special dollar amount or no dollar amounts associated with them. F ollowing is an explanation of these special wheel segments.
$10,000 – In Round 3 , there is a $10,000 segment. Once a play er wins this prize (chooses a letter in the puzzle after landing on the segment), it is unavailable for the r est of the r ound.
15 A UT OMA TIC SHUT -OFF A UT OMA TIC SHUT -OFF Y our unit will shut off automatically after thr ee (3) minutes of non-use. RESETTING Y OUR GAME UNIT If you game starts beha ving erratically and/or becomes unr esponsive, use a ball point pen to pr ess RESET .
