7 6 The game cards that ar e labeled HEAD TO HEAD are for use in the Head-to-Head and Sudden Death rounds only . They should be separated from the r egular round car ds before you start the game. Game cards can be stor ed in the base of the unit when not being used.
9 8 Finally , the two players must face off in the Head-to-Head r ound. Alter nately , each player is asked five (5) special head-to-head questions. The player with the most correct answers is the winner . If there is a tie, the game goes into Sudden Death.
TO ENSURE PROPER FUNCTION: • Do not mix old and new batteries • Do not mix alkaline, standard or r echargeable batteries • Battery insertion should be done by an adult • Non-rechar geable batt.
13 12 “LET’S PLA Y THE WEAKEST LINK!” Each game has six (6) regular r ounds, one (1) Double Money round and one (1) Head-to-Head round. The regular r ounds are fast paced question and answer r ounds. The goal of each round is to r each the $125,000 target befor e the timer runs out.
“INSERT A CARD AND ENTER THE CODE” Choose any card fr om the regular game car ds. Raise the card door and insert the card, making sur e that the cutout in the center of the card fits over the tab in the unit. 15 14 NOTE: AL WA YS INSERT A NEW CARD SO THA T THE ODD NUMBERED CODE SHOWS THROUGH THE CARD CODE WINDOW Close the card door .
17 16 “ST ART THE CLOCK” Anne will start the first round. The LCD will display the r ound number and the timer . Player 1 will always start Round 1. In later rounds, the first player will be the str ongest link from the pr evious round. If question one is not displayed in the question window , the unit will rotate the car d until it is.
19 18 CHANGING THE QUESTION CARD During a round, it is likely that you will use all the questions on one or both sides of the game card. The unit will r ecognize when this happens. Anne will stop the clock so that the card can be turned or replaced. Once this is done corr ectly , the clock will restart and the r ound will continue.
21 20 “WHY PLA YER 3?” Once all the votes have been cast, Anne will reveal who voted for whom. She will also ask two random players why they voted the way they did. Just like on TV , players have to explain their actions. T o continue the game, press ST ART .
23 22 DOUBLE MONEY ROUND After six rounds of play , there will be only two players left in the game. These two players have one last chance to increase the prize total.
24 CAUTION High temperature will destroy the unit. Do not leave unit in direct sunlight. Do not use a pencil or pin to press the RESET switch. Use a ball-point pen. Do not press the liquid crystal display and avoid heavy shock or the display may fail.
