1 W elcome to Wheel of F ortune Classic . All the fun of the original in a great new size! Before y ou start to play , ther e are a few things y ou should know .
2 CONTROL GUIDE LCD SCREEN - displays game information and puzzles ON/OFF - turns game on and off SOUND - turns sound off and on PLA YER/SCORE - used to scroll through pla yer s at the start of the game and to check scores during pla y PUZZLE CA T .
3 INSERTING THE BA TTERIES Using a Philips ® screwdriv er , loosen the screws in the battery compartment doors on the bottom of the unit. Remov e the doors. Insert four (4) AAA batteries, two (2) in each side, making sure to align the “+” and “-” signs.
4 T o ensure proper function • Do not mix old and new batteries • Do not mix alkaline, standard or rechar geable batteries • Battery installation should be done b y an adult • Non-r echargeabl.
5 PLA YING THE GAME LET’S PLA Y 1. Press ON/OFF . The theme music will begin playing and the screen will displa y, WELCOME TO WHEEL OF FORTUNE. T o move past this screen, press ENTER . The MAXIMUM SCORE recor ded on your game unit will be displa yed.
4. The scr een will change to display the blank lines of the puzzle. The USED LETTER BOARD will be displa yed in the lower right-hand side. The number of the pla yer whose turn it is will be display ed in the PLA YER field in the lower left-hand side.
If the letter you guessed is in the puzzle, you will hear a bell and the letter will appear in its proper place or places in the puzzle. The dollar amount awarded for the spin is the value of the wheel segment multiplied b y the number of times the letter appears in the puzzle.
8 T o buy a vowel, pr ess B UY . Use the keypad to choose a vowel – “ A, ” “E, ” “I, ” “O” or “U. ” As on the TV show, “Y” is not considered a vow el in this game. If you bought a vow el that is in the puzzle, you will hear a bell and the vow el will appear in its proper place or places.
9 6. When the puzzle has been solv ed, the round is over . T he unit will display the cumulativ e score for each play er . 7. Round 2 and Round 3 are pla y ed in the same w ay as Round 1. Pla y er 2 starts Round 2 and Pla y er 3 starts Round 3. If there ar e only two (2) players, Player 1 will start Round 3.
10 SPEED-UP ROUND If there is a tie betw een two or mor e players at the end of thr ee r ounds, a speed-up round is play ed to determine who goes to the Bonus Round. SPEED-UP ROUND will flash on screen, along with the play er numbers of those participating in the r ound.
BONUS ROUND The pla yer with the highest cumulativ e score at the end of thr ee rounds gets to pla y the BONUS ROUND . Only one player plays in this r ound. NO TE: If the computer pla yer has the most money at the end of three r ounds, NO BONUS ROUND WILL BE PLA YED .
12 BONUS ROUND 5. Use the KEYP AD to type the missing letters in the puzzle. When you ha ve finished, press ENTER . If you ar e correct, the “audience” will applaud. The prize value “hidden” behind the letter you chose at the beginning of the r ound will be re vealed and added to your cumulative total.
SPECIAL WHEEL SEGMENTS Some wheel segments have a special dollar amount or no dollar amounts associated with them. F ollowing is an explanation of these special wheel segments.
$10,000 – In Round 3 , there is a $10,000 segment. Once a player wins this prize (chooses a letter in the puzzle after landing on the segment), it is unav ailable for the r est of the round.
15 A UT OMA TIC SHUT -OFF A UTOMA TIC SHUT -OFF Y our unit will shut off automatically after three (3) minutes of non-use. RESETTING Y OUR GAME UNIT If you game starts behaving err atically and/or becomes unresponsive, use a ball point pen to press RESET .
