7 3.0 Preoperational Procedures 3.1 Gear Box 3.1.1 The gearbox is filled with the corr ect amount of oil at the time of shi pment. The oil level must be verified prior to ope ration. The ER2 and NER2 hoi sts have different checking procedures. Refer to Section 6.
8 3.2 Chain 3.2.1 The quantity and locatio n of the chain component s including chain sprin gs and stop pers depends o n the hoist model and capacity .

10 3.4.4 Lug Mounted ER2 080S and ER2100L -LG – To maintai n proper balance wh en the hoist is not lo aded, it is necessary to install a stabilizing shaft to prev ent the hoist from pivoting on the main support shaft.
11 Power Supply Cable - Hoist Connection The Power Supply Ca ble connect s to the hoist via a 4-pi n (4P) plug an d socket or a direct fitting depending on the product code . Make this connec tion as follows: Refer to Figure 3-5 or 3-6 depending on the pro duct code.

13 Power Supply Cable - Installation If the hoist is hook mount ed to a fixed supp ort ensure that the Po wer Supply Cable i s properly installed and supported between t he hoist and t he electrical power supply. If the hoist is installe d on a manual trol ley, then the Power Su pply Cable must be inst alled along the beam that the trolley runs on.
14 3.6 Preoperational Chec ks and Trial Opera tion 3.6.1 Refer to the h oist’s namepla te and record the h oist's Code, Lot and S erial Number in the space provided on the cover of this man ual. 3.6.2 WARNING Confirm the adequacy of the rated capacity for all slings, chain s, wire ropes and all other lifting attachment s before use.

21 11) Remove the remai ning Stopper an d Chain Spring f rom the old chain. Inspect and replace any damaged or worn pa rts. Install the Stop per and Chain Sp ring to the end of the n ew chain. Refer to Section 3.2 in this supplement for correct location.
