The A VR 760/AVR 660 is capable of being customized to suit y our system and your tastes. In this A dvanced Functions Manual, some of the more adv anced adjustments available are described.
5 ENGLISH AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS The first number indicat es the number of front channels in the signal: “1” represents a monophonic rec ording, usually an older progr am that has been digitally remaster ed or , more rar ely , a modern program for which the director has chosen a special effect.
6 AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS MANUA L S PEAKER SETUP The A VR 760/AVR 660 is flexible and ma y be configured for most speakers, and to compensat e for the acoustic characteristics of your r oom. The EzSet/EQ II process aut omatically detects the capabilities of each speaker , and optimizes the A VR 760/A VR 660’ s per formance.
7 ENGLISH AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS The setting for the surround back speak ers includes a third option: Zone 2. The A VR 760/AVR 660 is capable of multiz one operation, suppor ting placement of a pair of speakers in another r oom.
8 AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS STEP FOUR – Se tt ing Channe l Out put L ev e ls Manually For a con ventional 2-channel receiver , the balance control affects the stereo imaging by adjusting the rela tive loudness of the left and right channels. With up t o seven main channels, plus a subwoofer , imaging becomes both more critical and mor e complex.
9 ENGLISH AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS VIDEO ADJUST M E NTS The A VR 760/AVR 660 uses leading-edge F aroudja DCDi Cinema video processing t echnology . Incoming video is upscaled to 1080p (1080i with component video outputs) for outstanding video quality , even with analog video sources .
10 AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS Noise Reduction : Adjust this setting to L ow, Medium or High t o filter out signal noise, or turn it off . MPEG Noise Reduction : This setting is designed to address two specific types of video distortion, mosquito noise and blocking ar tifacts.
11 ENGLISH AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS Sharpness Adjustment Contr ar y to intuition, the picture will appear sharper and clearer with the sharpness backed off fr om the maximum setting.
12 AD V ANC ED F uNC TIONS GE N ER AL A VR S ETTING S Network Settings : When the A VR is connected to a home network rout er using the Network Jack, you may pla y shared content stor ed on a PC or other device connected to the network, and you ma y enjoy Internet Radio streams when the network is connected to the Internet .
