9 English 1.2 Intr oducing the TV Y ou can wa tch SECAM/ P A L/ DVB-T broadcast, cable, or digi tal television channels, and easily connect a VCR, STB or DVD player to the SCART , HDTV ( Component ), A V(Composite), and HDMI input ports (location of these ports depends on model).

12 English 1.6 Remote Control Power Connector Connect to the included p ower cord. Description Icon Function Power Press to turn the TV on or off. Input Signal Ty p e INPUT Press to select the input signal type selections: TV , DTV , SCART , A V , HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDTV , and PC.

14 English Subtitle With an A TV source, if teletext mode is activated and the teletext has a subti tle page, press to displ ay the subtitle page. With a DTV source, p ress to display the subtitle OSD, and select the language. Hold Press to inactivate automatic page change which only occurs when more than one teletext page exists.
15 English Note: • For best results, use th e remote control w ithin a proper dist ance from the front of the TV . Do not exceed an angle of 30 degre es when pointing at TV. • Th e operational distance may be shortened when the signal sensor is directly exposed to strong light.
16 English 1.7 Inser ting the R emote Control Batteries 1 Open the battery compartment cover at the back of the remote control (A). 2 Insert the batteries paying attention to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment (B). 3 Replace the battery compartment cover (C).
17 English CAUTION • If the remote control is not used for a long period, remove the batteries and store them properly . • Handle damaged or leaking batteries carefully , and wash hands with soap if they come in contac t with leaked chemical fluids.
18 English 2 Setting up your TV 2.1 Basic Con nections 2.1.1 Po wer Connection 1 Connect the p ower cord to the AC IN in put jack on t he rear of the TV .
19 English 2.2 Conne cting Exter nal De vices Connect external devices such as VCRs, STBs, DVD pla yers, video game consoles, earphones, or a PC to the TV using the appropriate ports on the rear of the TV . 2.2.1 Connecting Exter nal Ear phones Note: • Exte rnal speakers or he adphones are not included with the TV .
20 English 2.2.2 Connecting to A V De vices The following diagram illustrates how to connect the A V devices to your TV via HDMI (A), Component/AUDIO (B), SCAR T (C), VIDEO/ AUDIO (D) ports. Note: The audio ports shown in Component (B) and Video Audio (D) are physically the same ports.

22 English 2.2.4 Connecting a PC using V GA Connect the TV to your PC to use it as the monitor using the VGA port as shown. 1 Connect the VGA port of the TV to the VGA outp ut of the PC. 2 Connect the line out port of the PC to th e PC LINE IN port of your TV to listen to audio from the PC.
23 English 2.2.6 Connecting HDMI HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) assures tha t the best video signal is always sent from source to the TV . Refer to the following illustration to conne ct an HDMI device to the TV . 2.2.7 Connecting USB Service port, for DVT F/W update only .
24 English 2.2.8 C onnectin g a V CR/ STB/ D VD Player using SCAR T Connect the SCART (optional) to connect a TV , VCR, VCD, DVD pla yer or video game console. Y ou can choose to use a SCART cable or adapter for the conn ection depending on the ports available on your player .

26 English 3 Adjusting On-Scr een Display (OSD) Settings The On-Screen Di splay (OSD) menu system provides a qui ck and simple meth od to adjust the TV settings.
27 English 3.1 OSD Set ting Menus Follow the i nstructions indicated on the down side of the OSD Function Men u. Press P S / P T on the control panel or / arrow keys to scroll through the menus, VOL + on the control panel or the arrow key to select an item, or MENU to exit the OSD menu.
