Model 1985A Megapower CPU Standby Switch Installation Instructions The 1985A Standby Switch is for use with either two 1995 or two 1996 Switching Systems. The 1985A reads the high speed data line of each CPU and determines if both are functioning normally.

1985A MEGAPOWER CPU STANDBY SWITCH DESCRIPTION Mounting The 1985A Megapower Standby Switch allows two 1995 or 1996 CPUs to operate in tandem, where one CPU is the primary controlling CPU of the system and second is the backup CPU in stand - by mode.
1985A MEGAPOWER CPU STANDBY SWITCH RS - 232 Connector The RS - 232 connector used on all ports is an 8 - pin telephone type connector (RJ45). The terminal box supplied with the telephone cables has the same pinout signals as the telephone connectors, Please see Tables 1 for the pinout of these connectors.
1985A MEGAPOWER CPU STANDBY SWITCH High Speed Control Code Line The two sets of three BNC connectors, located on the rear panel of the 1985A, are used to connect the high speed control code from the CPUs to the Video Switching System. (See Figure 2). Each 1995 and 1996 Series CPU contains two control code outputs.
1985A MEGAPOWER CPU STANDBY SWITCH SETUP OPERATION All controls for the 1985A Standby Switch are located in the center of the unit’s front panel as shown in Figure 4 below.
