3 GENERA L INFORMAT ION The Model 715 Dispe nse Valve is an On/Of f valve designed for a cont inuous flow of viscous m ate r ial through a dispense needle in automatic, sem i-autom atic or manual applications. It is sh ipped com plete with the following: Model 715 Dispense Valve Two 3 foot (.
4 DESCRIPTION OF OPERA TION 1. The norm al “ready” state of the s y stem is as follows: The material supp ly line is filled with dispensable m aterial. The s y stem has been p urged, filling the valve with material up to the Spool (2). The Spool (2) is seate d in the lower Posipak Seal (6).
5 SETUP PROCED URE MOUNTING DISPENSE VALVE Mounting holes are dr illed through th e valve bod y. The valve m ay be tilted to a m aximum of 60 degrees from the vertical depending on the application. 6 OPERA TING PROCEDU RES WET CUP LOADING Some models are equipped with a wet cup around the Spool (2) t o keep it wetted. This helps prevent cur ing or crystallization of m aterial on the spool and conse quent prem ature seal failure. Fi ll the wet cup with a compatible self-leveling m aterial prior to operati on if your valve is so equ ipped.
7 PERIODIC M A INTENANCE DISPENSE NOZZLE/NEEDLE REPLACEMENT If no m aterial or reduced volumes of material come out of the dispense nozzle/needle it m ay be partiall y or completely clogged. C lean with water or s ol vent depending on th e material dispe nsed.

13 GENERA L GUIDELINES F OR O-RINGS A ND U-CUP SEALS Sizes and materia ls of construction for O -rings and U -cup seals are se lected by Gr aco based on com patibility with the chemicals to which they will be expos ed. Solvents that m ay remove residual chem icals often have negative effects on the m echanical properties of O- rings and seals.
