Installation Ground The Sys tem The equipmen t must be grounded t o reduce the risk of stati c sparking. Static sparking can cause fumes t o igni te or explode. Grounding provid es an escape wire f or the electrical current. • Always ground the entir e fluid system as described belo w.
Installation Air Exhaust Ventilation If pumping tox ic fluids, you must vent the exhaust away from peo ple, ani mals, foo d handling a reas, and all sourc es of ignition. Follow all applica ble codes. NOTICE The air ex haust port is 1 in . npt(f). Do not r estrict the air exhaust port.
Installation Fluid Supply L ine 1. Use grounded, flexible fluid ho ses (E). See Ground The System, pag e 10 . 2. If the inl et fluid pressure to the pump i s more than 25% of t he outlet w orking pressu re, the ball check valves will not cl ose fast enough, resulting in i nefficient pump oper ation.
Installation Flange Connec tions The fluid inlet and ou tlet ports are 2 i n. (50 mm) raised face, ANSI /DIN PN 10 flanges. Connect 2 in. (50 mm) plast ic pipe flange t o the pump as fol lows. You will need: • Torqu e wrenc h • Adjustable w rench • 6 in.
