1 Intr oduction HYDRA VISION™ Multi-monitor Management Software enables you to tailor your desktop to the w ay you work, so you can manage increased amounts of information and improv e your productivity .
2 Installing HYDRA VISION • HYDRA VISION can easily be installed in the follo wing operating systems: • W indo ws ® 98SE • W indo ws ® Me • W indo ws ® 2000 • W indo ws ® XP T o install .
3 8 Click Custom and then select HYDRA VISION and any other components you wish to install. The Select Components list may v ary . 9 Reboot your system when prompted.
4 Ho wev er , the HYDRA VISION W izard may be re-run at any time b y doing the following: 1 Click Start. 2 Click Programs. 3 Click AT I HYDRA V ISION. 4 Click HYDRA VISION Wizard.
5 HYDRA VISION f or Windo ws ® 2000/Windo ws ® XP HYDRA VISION installation creates a W indows ® program group for HYDRA VISION multi-monitor management software. HYDRA VISION and the Desktop Manager are activ ated whene ver W indows ® starts. Installing HYDRA VISION adds menu options to the A TI Icon.
6 OK implements the changes you’ ve made in the HYDRA VISION Dialog and ex its the Desktop Manager . Changes take ef fect im mediately unless you see a message prompting you to restart your computer . Cancel discards all changes made to any section of the HYDRA VISION Dialog and closes the Desktop Manager .
7 Dialog contr ol Enable dialog repositioning : T oggles dialog control on and of f. When it is checked, you can choose to hav e dialogs appear on the parent application’ s monitor . (The parent application is the a pplication that generated the dialog.
8 Max child windows: Keeps windo ws generated b y parent applications from sp litting across monitors. (A child windo w is a window residing within a parent application windo w .) The abil ity to k eep child windows on a single monitor when maxi mized is extremely useful for editing multiple documents side by side in a parent application.

10 T o enable Individual Applications Settings via the Desktop Manager These settings ov erride the gl obal settings defined in the Desktop Management Dialog. 1 Click on the Individual A pplication Settings button. 2 All open applications will appear in the Individual settings not enabled Dialog.
11 T o enable Individual Applications Settings using the HYDRA VISION titlebar b utton 1 Open the Individual A pplicat ion Settings Dial og by clicking the Indi vidual appl ication Settings button: Individual Ap plication Settings Dialog T ext in gr een reflects Desktop Ma nagement settings.
12 Exc lusions This feature allo ws you to exclude HYDRA VISION settings from being applied to a specif ic application or unload HYDRA VISION completely when a specific application is started. T o exclude HYDRA VISION settings: 1 Open HYDRA VISION Desktop Management.
13 8 Click Unload HYDRA VISION in the Edit exclusion level Dialog . 9 Click OK to apply the setting. The application will appear in red t e x t in the Excluded applications Dialog . HYDRA VISION will not automatically restart when the application closes.
14 Create/Remo ve Hot Ke ys T o create custom hot key sequences, select a Modif ier key (Shift, Alt, etc.), a Hot key , and the Hot key function you want this k ey combination to perform. Click Add to enter your ne w combination in the Assigned hot keys list box.
15 Using Hot Ke ys Y ou can use any assigned hot ke y at any time, from within any application, to change your display . Hot ke y functions include: Snap App to Monitor Mov es or “snaps” activ e dialogs from monitor to monito r for quick placement and vie wing of desktop contents .
16 HydraFX HydraFX is only av ailable in W indows ® 2000 and W indo ws ® XP . HYDRA VISION HydraFX adds visual enhancements to your desktop.Y ou can control the transparency of windo ws and application drop-down menus and gi ves a windo w depth by enabling Shado w support.
17 3D Contr ols Enable Shadow Support: Check this box to enable the Shado w support sliders. The V isibility slider sets the degree of visibility of the shado w .
18 If a second instance of the same application is opened when Always on T op has been enabled, the second instance will appear on top of the f irst. Y ou will be able to switch between the two instances as though Always on T op was disabled.
19 Mo ve to monitor This feature allo ws you to move an application dialog to a specifi c monitor . T o do so: 1 Right-click the application titlebar . 2 Select the preferred monitor from the drop-do wn menu. Restore to monitor This feature allo ws you to specify which monitor a minimized application will open on.

22 The HYDRA VISION Desktop Manager allows you to modify your display options. Y ou can access the Desktop Management and Hot K eys Dialog by clicking on the appropriate tab in the Desktop Manager . Along the bottom of each HYDRA VISION Dialog are four buttons: OK , Cancel , Apply and Help .
23 HYDRA VISION Properties Desktop Management Controls The Desktop Management Dialog The Desktop Management Dialog lets you determine the behavior of pop-up dial ogs in a multiple monitor en vironment. Dialog contr ol Enable dialog repositioning : T oggles dialog control on and of f.
24 Window contr ol Single monitor windows : When this box is checked, windo ws are sized no larger than a single monitor . W indo ws that are placed on monitor splits are automatically relocated to the monitor on which most of the windo w appears.
25 General A pplication position memory : Check this box to “remember” the size and location of application dialogs when they are closed and reapp ly those settings when the application is reopened.
26 Load/Unload MultiDesk : This button starts or stops multiple desktop functionality . MultiDesk will not reload automatically when W indo ws ® restarts. Y ou will need to restart MultiDesk from the Desktop Management Dialog. MultiDesk Properties : This b utton giv es access to all the MultiDesk Properties.

33 Alwa ys On T op This feature allo ws you to ke ep a specif ic application on top of other open applications , e ven if anothe r ap plication is opened or mov ed on your desktop. • T o enable Always on T op right-click the title bar of the required application and click Always on T op in the pop-up menu.
34 Mo ve to Monitor This feature allo ws you to move an application dialog to a specific monitor . Restore to Monitor This feature allo ws you to specify which monitor a minimized application will open on.
35 MultiDesk HYDRA VISION software suppo rts multiple desktops. W ith MultiDesk, one acti ve desktop will alw ays be visible, while up to eight acti ve desktops can reside in the background. When MultiDesk is running, the MultiDesk icon in the system tray displays the number assigned to the current desktop.
36 MultiDesk will not reload automatically when W indo ws ® restarts. Y ou will need to reload MultiDesk from the Desktop Manager . MultiDesk Pr oper ties MultiDesk Properties allo ws you to control up to nine desktops. In addition, each desktop can be sav ed and restored at any time.
37 Set Desktop State allows you to set a specif ic desktop Acti ve, Inacti ve, or Disabled. Inacti ve desktops MA Y contain open applications; ho we v er , the y are temporarily disabled.
38 1 Right-click the MultiDesk icon in the W indo ws ® taskbar . 2 Select Restore desktop. 3 Click a specif ic desktop or All Desktops to restore all Desktop Prof iles. T o remo ve a sav ed desktop prof ile: 1 Open MultiDesk Properties. 2 Click Remov e in the Desktop Profiles box.
39 If A pply actions to all Desktops is enabled, Clear Desktop will mov e all open applications to the first acti ve desktop. Set Background gi ves you immediate access to the W indo ws ® display properties where you can change the desktop background.
40 Ma gnifyFX MagnifyFX allo ws you to zoom in to a specific area of the desktop. The area of magnif ication is completely adjustable. Magnified areas can be co pied to the clipboard and the contents pasted into almost any graphics or word processing application.
41 4 Click and drag until the box surrounds the object(s) to be magnified. 5 Release the mouse button. F ollow Box causes the cursor to become a visible box.
