Cookwar e should not ext end mor e th an ½" (1.3 c m) outside th e area. ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conducti on and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbe d or dented bo ttoms could cause u neven heati ng and poor cooking results.
7 ELECTRONIC OVEN CONTROLS Disp lay When power i s first supp lied to t he applian ce, a flash ing time wi ll appear on the di splay . Press CANCEL/OFF t o clear the disp lay . If a flashin g time appears at any ot her time, a power fail ure has occurred.
8 Ti m er The Timer c an be se t in hours or minute s up to 12 hours and 59 minutes, and counts down th e set time. Th e Timer does not start or stop t he oven. To S e t : 1. Press TIMER. The t imer indicator light will light up on some models. If no action is ta ken after 1 min ute, the dis play will retur n to t he time of day .
9 BAKEWARE Hot air must be able t o circulate around food to cook evenly , so allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven wall s. Use the following c hart as a guide. 10 Oven V ent The oven vent releases h ot air and moistu re fr om the oven, and should not be blocked or cover ed. Blocking or covering the vent will cause poor ai r circulation, affectin g cooking and cleanin g results. Do not set plast ics, paper or oth er items that could melt or burn near the oven vent.
11 BROILING CHART For best res ults, place food 3" (7 cm) or mor e from the broil element. Time s are guidelines on ly and may need t o be adjus ted for indivi dual tast es. Recom mended rack po sition s are numbered fro m th e bott om ( 1) to the to p (5).
