1 www .gatew ay .com Replacing the Gateway M275 Keyboard This package includes a replac ement keyboard for your Gateway M275 notebook and these printed instructions. T ools you ne ed Y ou need a small Philli ps screwdriver and a small flat-blade screwdrive r to replace the keyboard.
2 www .gatew ay .com ■ Unplug the power cord and the modem and network cables. ■ Remove the battery . For more information, see “Changing ba tteries” in your user guide.
3 www .gatew ay .com 7 Remove the two keyboard screws. 8 T urn your notebook over so the top is fa cing up. 9 Open the LCD panel to the normal viewing po sition.
4 www .gatew ay .com 10 Insert the small flat-blade screwd river under the bottom of the keyboard bezel between the F11 and F12 ke ys an d gen tly pr y it up. 11 Remove the bezel from your convertible ta blet PC by pulling the bezel toward you and at the same t ime lifting its front to c lear the keyboard.

6 www .gatew ay .com 13 Lift the back edge of the keyboard, then slowly rotate it toward you so it lies keys- down on top of your c onvertible tablet PC.
7 www .gatew ay .com Installing the keyboard T o install the keyboard: 1 Place t he new key board keys-down on your notebook with the space bar away from yo u. 2 V erify the black plastic hinge on the system board keyboard connector is in the raised position.
8 www .gatew ay .com 6 Insert the tabs on the front of the keyboard un der the palm rest. 7 Gently press the keyboard down unti l it is flat all the way across. The keyboard should easily fall into place. Be careful not to damage the LCD pan e l. 8 Replace the four keyboard screws.
9 www .gatew ay .com 9 Slide the tabs o n the bottom side of th e bezel under your co nvertible tablet PC frame. 10 Press down on the bezel in several plac es to make sure it is correctly mounted. The bezel is correctly mounted when y ou can run your finger along the bezel and find no loose spots.
