Installation options. The modular r efrigerat or and freezer column concept from Gaggenau oers you a variety of installation possibilities. In some instances, special accessories are req uired! Individual column installations Any appliance can be ins talled as a stand-alone unit.
Kitchen design — basic t erms. T o clarify the terms which are used in this planning guide, please ref er to the follo wing denitions: Case This is the main body of a kitchen cabinet. F ace F rame (Cabinet) This is a decorativ e frame at the front of a kitchen cabine t and is typical for North America.
As pre viously described, the requir ed depth of the installation cavity is mainly dependent on t he kitchen design. Gaggenau refrigerat or and freezer columns are designed for a cut out depth of 24 " (610 mm). So, if the kitchen cabinet (case + face frame) is 24" deep, t his should accommodate man y standard installations.

Dimensions for the ins tallation cavity . Important! The walls and t he top panel of the installation cut out must be made of a solid material with a t hickness of at least ⅝", to guar antee the secur e installation of the appliance. Mak e sure that the upper boundary is complet ely ush f or a depth of at least 4".
Gaggenau refrigeration appliances ar e designed to be equipped with a decorativ e door panel. A panel can be custom-made or pur chased as a stainless steel accessory . Below diagr ams illustrat e the dimensions of the stainless steel panel accessories and can be used as a guide in creating cust om panels.
