2-1 2. PLOTTER DISPLA YS 2.1 Presen t ation Mod es The plotter displa y mainly shows chart, ship’s track, waypoints, and navigation data. Three types of display presentations are provid ed for the norm al plotter display: north-up, course-up and auto course-up.
2. PLOT TER DI SPLA Y 2-2 2.1.2 Course-up Press the COURSE UP so ft key to show the course-up display . W hen destination is set it is at the top of the screen, and the north mark appears at t he upper right side of the screen and points t o north.

Operate the cursor pad to shift the cursor . The cursor mov es in the direction of the arrow or diagonal pressed on the cursor pad.

The compass rose show s two triangles: the red triangle sh ows own ship’ s course and the black triangle, which moves with ship’ s course, s hows the bearing to dest ination waypoint .

6. NA VIGA TION 6-5 6.3 Follo w ing a Route Y ou can follo w a route as follo w s. Setting a comp l ete route as desti n ation This m ethod enables you to navigat e fr om the first waypoint of a route. 1. Press the cursor pad to place the cursor at the location not occupied by waypoint.
6. NA VIIGA TION 6-6 Skipping route way point s In some instances you may want to “skip” waypoints while following a route. In the figure belo w , for exam ple, the vessel has de cided to navigat e from waypoint 05 to 03, skipping waypoint 04.
7-1 7. ALARMS The plotter sect ion has seven conditions which generate both audio a nd visual alarm s: arrival, XTE, temperat ure, depth, anchor , STW and grounding alarm s. W hen an alarm is violated both audi o and visua l alarms are released. Y ou m ay silence the audio al arm with the [CLEAR] key .

7. ALARM 7-4 7.4 T emperature A l arm Note: This alarm requires water tem perature data. There are t wo types of water alarms: W ithin Range and Out of Range. The W ithin Range alarm sounds when the water temperature is within the range set, and the Out of Range sounds when the water tem perature is higher or lo wer than the range set.
