2 LifeBook S Series Notebook BIOS S Series BIOS BIOS SETUP UTILITY The BIOS Setup Utility is a program that sets up the operating en vironment for y our notebook. Y our BIOS is set at the factor y for normal operating conditions, therefor e there should be no need to set or change the BIOS enviro nment to operate your not ebook.

5 Drive0 Selects the Drive0 Serial A T A drive submenu The product number of the hard drive. Display the type of device on this A T A/IDE interface. Pressing the Enter key selects the Serial A T A Drive0 submenu allowing a dditional device configuration options for this interface.

8 LifeBook S Series Notebook BIOS Exiting from Main Menu W hen you ha ve finished setting the para meters on this menu, y ou can either exit from the setup utilit y , or move t o another menu. If y ou w ish to exit from the setup utility , pr ess the [Esc] key or use the cursor keys to go to the Exit menu or to mov e to another menu.
9 ADV ANCED MENU – SETTING DEVICE FEA T URE CONTROLS The Ad vanced M enu allows you to: ■ Set the I/O addresses for the ser ial and parallel por ts when a port replicator is used. ■ Set the features of the keyboard/mouse. ■ Select between the display panel and/or an e x ternal CR T display .
10 LifeBook S Series Notebook BIOS Internal Device Configurations When selected, opens the Internal Device Configurat ion submenu , which allows enab ling or disabling the modem, IDE, and LAN Controllers. CPU Features When selected, opens the CP U Features submenu, which allows you to change the Intel(R) SpeedStep(R) T echnology settings.
11 Serial/Parallel Port Configu ration Submenu of the Advanced Menu The Serial/P ar allel P or t Configuration submenu lets you set the I/O addresses and interr upt levels for the serial, infrared and parallel port s of your notebook.
