3 Introduction Thank yo u for purc hasing the Al tec Lansing M8 12 Wireless Speaker System for iPod. Th e M812 include s one or t wo wireles s, high-perfo rmance speaker s and a transmit ter base that allows you to listen to mos t iPod models, FM radio stat ions and auxil iary audio sou rces.
4 Wireless Connectivity The transmitter base and speaker can communicate over three wir eless radio frequency (RF) channels. The default setting is AUTO. Y ou may also manually select one of the three channels. In AUTO, the transmitter base looks for and transmits on the most interference-fr ee of the three channels.
5 Basic Controls and Functions Wireless Speaker Side Panel 1 VOLUME +/– Raises and lowers the volume. 2 INPUT Changes the playback source (iPod, FM and AUX). 3 TUNE / TRACK +/– In FM mode, adjusts tuning. In iPod mode, changes tracks. 4 POWER Switches the power mode between Standby and On.
6 T ransmitter Base Front Panel 1 ST ANDBY / ON Switches the power mode between Standby and On for the transmitter base. This light (left of the ST ANDBY key) illuminates when the transmitter base is on. 2 SYNC 1 LED Illuminates to indicate that the transmitter base is synchronized with one wir eless speaker unit.
7 Remote Control 1 ST ANDBY/ON key T ur ns on the M812 or places it in standby mode. 2 MUTE Mutes the speaker . 3 MASTER VOL +/– keys Press to adjust the volume of several speakers when they are all synchr onized with the transmitter base.
8 Advanced Operation Multi-Speaker Systems With a single transmitter base, you can transmit audio to as many as eight wireless speakers. Speakers can be set to standard ster eo mode or to serve as pairs of left and right speakers. By adding speakers to your system, you can create separate listening ar eas served by one or more speakers.

10 T roubleshooting Symptom Possible Problem Solution No power to speaker or to transmitter base. The power cord is not connected to a wall outlet and/or the power cord is not plugged into the AC inlet on the back of the M812 speaker .
11 T roubleshooting Symptom Possible Problem Solution There is a crackling sound coming from the speaker (when connected to PC or laptop). The operating system’ s volume level is set too high. Check the operating system volume level and decrease it if necessary .
