6 IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS CONVERSION TO L.P . GAS This appliance allows for conversi on to Liquefied Petroleum (L.P .) Ga s. If L.P . conversion is ne eded, contact you r local L.P . Gas provider for assistance. T he L.P . conversion kit is provided with this appliance and is located on the lower REAR (back side) panel of the range.
7 IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IMPORT ANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLEAN ING Y OUR RANGE • Clean the range regularly to keep all p arts free of grease that could catch fire. Pay pa rticular attention to the area around each burne r element. Do not allow grease to accumulate.
8 Control locations of the gas surface burners Y our built-in range is equip ped with gas surface burners with different BTU ratings. Th e ability to heat food quicker and in larger volume s increases as the bu rner size increases. The small simmer burner is be st used for simmering delicate sauces, etc.
9 BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Operating the gas surface controls 1. Place cooking uten sil on surface burn er . 2. Push the surface control knob down and turn counter- clockwise out of the OFF position. 3. Release the knob and rot ate to the LITE position (see figures 1 & 2).
10 Oven vent location The oven vent is locate d near th e back of th e cookto p. When the oven is on, warm air p asses through this vent. This venting is necessary for proper air circulation in the oven and good ba king results. Do not block oven vent.
11 BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Oven racks and rack positions Remove a ll oven racks before starting a self-clean cycle. If oven racks are left inside the oven during a cleaning cycle, the slide ability of th e oven racks may be damaged and all of the oven racks will lose their shiny finish.
12 OVEN CONTROLS Oven Controls Features 1. Delay St art — Use to program a delayed time bake or delayed self-cleanin g cycle s tart time. 2. Set Clock — Use along with the numeric keyp ad to set the time of day . 3. Oven Li ght — Use to turn th e oven light on and off.
13 OVEN CONTROLS Setting the Clock The set clock control is used to set the clock. The clock may be set for 12 or 24 hours display op eration. The clock is preset at the factory for 12 hour display . When the oven is first plugged in, or wh en the power supply to the oven has been interrupted, th e timer in the display will flash.
14 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Continuous Bake or 6 Hour Energy Saving The timer on-off an d self clean keys control the contin- uous bake or 6 hour energy savin g features. The oven control has a factory preset 6 Hour Energy Saving feature that shuts of f the oven if the oven control is left on for more than 6 hours.
15 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Oven Lockout Feature The key controls the oven lockout. When active, this feature automatically locks t he oven doo r , preventing the oven from being turned on. It does not af fect the clock, timer , or the interior oven light s.
16 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Bake Baking Tip s For best bake result s: • Fully preheat the oven before b aking items like cookies, cakes, biscuit s, and breads. • When using any single rack, position th e rack so that the food is in the cente r of the ov en.
17 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Broil Broiling tip s: • Broil foods with oven door closed. • For optimum browning, preheat th e broil element for 2 minutes.
18 OVEN CONTROLS Convection Cooking Multiple rack baking may slight ly increase cook time for some foods, but the overall result is time saved. Some food may cook faster and more evenly with convection ba ke. Convection ba king uses the th ree elements and a fan to circulate the heat evenly and con tinuously within the oven (See Figure 12 ).
19 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Convection Convert Convection convert automatically convert s a standard baking recipe for convection baking. When set pro perly , this feature is designed to display the actual conver ted (reduced) temperatu re in the display .
20 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Bake Time Use bake time when setting the oven to cook for a specific length of time and shut off auto matically when the time is complete. When cooking time ends, th e oven will shut off and will beep. This feature can be used with bake, convection bake, convection roast, and slow cook modes.
21 OVEN CONTROLS Setting W arm (Keep W arm) Wa r m is best for keeping oven bake d foods warm for serving after cooking ha s finished. The warm key turns on the warm feature, will maintain an oven te mperature of 170°F (77°C), and will keep ov en baked foods warm for serving up to 3 hours af ter cooking.
22 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Slow Cook (some models) The slow cook featu re is best fo r cooking at lower tem pera- tures for longer periods of time and works best for be ef (ribs and brisket), pork roast s, and poultry dishes. Slow cook has two settings: Lo 225°F (1 08°C) and Hi 275°F (135°C).
23 OVEN CONTROLS Cooking with Meat Probe Use the pr obe featur e for bes t results when coo king foods such as roasts, hams, or poultr y . For meats like po ultry and roast s, using a probe to check internal temperature is the safest meth od to ensure properly cooked food.
24 OVEN CONTROLS T o set probe: 1. Insert the probe into the food. Place prep ared food on the desired oven rack position and slide into the oven. 2. Plug the connector end of the probe all the way into the probe receptacle while the ov en is still cool.
25 OVEN CONTROLS Restoring Factory Default Setting Y our appliance is prog rammed with default control setting s. Over time, us ers may ma ke changes to these sett ings. The oven temperature adjustment s made wit h this feature will not change the self clean cycl e temperat ure or the broil temper ature.

28 OVEN CONTROLS Setting Self-Clean Cycle Durati on The self clean key controls the self-cleaning feat ure. If you are planning to use the oven di rectly af ter a self-clean cycle remember to allow time fo r the oven to cool down and the oven door to unlock.
29 Cleaning V arious Parts of Y our W all Oven Before cleaning any part of the oven, be sure all controls are turned of f and the oven is cool. Remove spills and any heavy soiling as soon as possible . Regular cleaning will reduce the nu mber of major cleaning later .
30 CARE AND CLEANING Removing and Replacing the Oven Door T o remove oven d oor : 1. Open oven door complete ly horizontal with floor (See Figure 22 ). 2. Pull the door hinge locks on both lef t and right door hinges down from the oven frame completely to wards the oven door (See F igure 23 ).
