EN SWD-1600 a Class D Amplifier Active Subwoofer Please follow these instructions for your safety • Introduction: Please read this owners manual thoroughly to familiarise yourself with each control and function. We at Alpine hope that your new SWD- 1600 will give you many years of listening enjoyment.
EN USE SPECIFIED ACCE SSORY PARTS AND INSTAL L THEM SECURLEY. Be sure to use only the specified accessor y parts. Use of other than designated pa rts may damage this unit interna lly or may not securely install the unit in place. Th is may cause parts to become loose resulting in hazards or p roduct failure .
EN CAUTION IN USE Caution! When installing, a lways use the b rackets that are supplied. This product is supplied with brackets for safe use and installation. When installing, always use these brackets to firm ly fix the product into place. For fu rther in forma tion, please refer to the “insta llation” page.
EN Always use the extension power le ad included (with 12A f use), and connect directly to the +ve battery terminal. Only use the e xtension powe r cable inc luded.
EN TROUBLESHOOTING If you have a problem with the product then please check the following before taking for repair. SYMPTOMS REASON SOLUTION Unit does not operate. ( For example if t he fu se is blown) The head unit is no t powered up. Check the earth lead connection Earth lead is not connected properly.

EN 1 Carefully consider all installa tion possibilities and locations. 2 Decide where to install the subwoofe r. Attach the brac kets w ith the suppli ed machine sc rews. • The b rackets can be attached fo r horizon tal or ver tical mounting. Please attach the brac kets according ly.
EN WARNING - DO NOT DAMAGE PIPE OR WIRIN G WHEN DRILLING HOLES . When drilling holes in the chassis for installation, take precauti ons so as not to contact, damage or obstruct pipes, fuel lines, tanks or electrical wiring. Failure to take such precautions may result in fire.
EN 2. CONNECTION 1 Disconnect the cable fro m the negative termina l of the car battery. 2 Connect • CONNECTIONS FOR R CA INPUT Head Unit RCA lead (sold separat ely) Pre-out Remote tu rn on Battery e xtension lead Yellow Blue/White Black Yellow Remote tu rn on Ground connect ion FUSE Connect to the ACC line if the head unit has no remote on lead.
EN • Make a ll connections securely. • Any unused connections should be in sulated wi th electric al insula tion tape. Memo • On ca rs fitted w ith compute rs and other such devices (e .g. head units w ith security code), you ma y loose the memory when dis connecting the negative lead.
EN • CONNECTIONS FOR SPEAKER LEVEL I NPUT Head Unit If y our head unit does not have this lead, then please connect to the the ACC lead of the vehicle.
EN 3. CHECK 1 Secure all loose cables. CAUTION - ARRANGE THE WIRING SO IT I S N OT CRIMPED OR PINCHE D BY A SHARP METAL EDGE. Route the cables and wiring awa y from moving parts (li ke the seat rails) or sharp or pointed edges . This will prevent crimping and damage to the wiring.
EN 1. Set the gain to MIN, Phase to NOR M, LPF to CENTER befo re switching on the sys tem. 2. Set the Bass /Treble adjustment to ze ro on the head unit. Set the volume to your a verage listening level. It may hel p t o use a music source t hat is familiar.
