Place a pan of food on the unit before turning it on, and turn the unit off before removing the pan. • Use proper pan size —This appliance is equipped with one or more surface units of different sizes.
6 Types of oven racks Your range may be equipped with one or more of the oven rack styles illustrated below. BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Oven vent location The oven vent is located under the left side of the control panel (See Fig. 1). When the oven is on, warm air passes through this vent.

9 Single radiant surface elements To operate the single radiant element: 1 . Place correctly sized cookware on single radiant surface element. 2 . Push in and turn the surface control knob in either direction (Fig. 2) to the desired setting (Refer to the Suggested radiant surface element settings table Fig.
10 CAUTION Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Symbols on the backguard will help choose which portion of the dual radiant element to set. The symbol indicates a setting for the inner coil only. The symbol indicates a setting for both inner and outer coils. SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS You may switch from either single or dual element setting at any time during cooking.
11 Keep warm (some models) The purpose of the keep warm zone is to keep hot cooked foods at serving temperature. Use the keep warm feature to keep cooked foods for serving such as; vegetables, gravies, casseroles, soups, stews, breads, pastries and oven-safe dinner plates.
12 SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Home canning Be sure to read and observe all the following points when home canning with your appliance. Check with the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) website and be sure to read all the information they have available as well as follow their recommendations for home canning procedures.
13 OVEN CONTROL FUNCTIONS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. For satisfactory use of your oven, become familiar with the various keypad functions as described below. Oven control (for models with quick bake) broil keypad— Use to select the variable broil feature.
14 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting the clock When the appliance is first plugged in or when the power supply to the appliance has been interrupted, the display will flash "12:00" . It is recommended to always set the clock for the correct time of day before using the appliance.
15 Setting the minute timer To set the minute timer: 1 . Press timer on-off keypad. 2 . Press the to increase the minute timer in one minute increments. Press and hold the to increase the time in 10 minute increments. The minute timer may be set for any amount of time from 1 minute to 11 hours and 59 minutes.
16 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS The oven may be programmed to bake at any temperature between 170°F to 550°F (77°C to 287°C). The factory preset automatic bake temperature is 350°F (177°C). To set bake: 1. Press bake . "— — —" appears in the display.
17 When the set bake time runs out: 1. " End " will appear in the display window and the oven will shut-off automatically. 2 . The control will beep 3 times every 60 seconds as a reminder until the clear off keypad is pressed. To change the oven temperature or bake time after baking has started: 1 .
18 SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Quick bake (some models) Quick bake uses a fan to circulate the oven's heat uniformly and continuously around the oven. This improved heat distribution allows for fast, even cooking and browning results. It also provides better baking performance when using two racks at the same time.
19 To set Broil 1 . Arrange the oven rack while oven is still cool. 2. Press broil . " — — "will appear in display. 3 . Press and hold the or until the desired broil setting level appears in the display. Press the for HI broil or the for LO broil.
20 The interior oven light will automatically turn ON when the oven door is opened. Press the light keypad to turn the interior oven light ON and OFF whenever the oven door is closed. The interior oven light is located at the upper left rear wall of the oven interior and is covered with a glass shield held by a wire holder.
21 A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures (well above normal cooking temperatures) which eliminate soils completely or reduces them to a fine powdered ash you can wipe away with a damp cloth.
22 CLEAN 2 . Press the start time keypad. The " : " in the time of day display will flash. 3 . Press and hold the keypad to scroll to the time to start a delayed self-clean cycle. Release the keypad when the desired start time is displayed. 4 .

24 Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your ceramic glass cooktop. To maintain the cooktop appearance: • Do not slide anything metal or glass across the cooktop. • Do not use cookware with dirt or dirt build up on bottom; replace with clean cookware before using.
25 Aluminum foil and the cooktop - Use of aluminum foil on a hot cooktop can damage the ceramic glass. Do not use thin aluminum cooking utensils or allow aluminum foil to touch the ceramic cooktop under ANY circumstances. Aluminum utensils and the cooktop - Care must be taken when aluminum pots or pans are used on the cooktop.

27 Solutions to common problems • BEFORE YOU CALL Surface element does not heat cookware. • Lightweight or warped pans used. Use only flat, evenly balanced, medium or heavyweight quality cookware. Flat pans heat better than warped pans. Cookware materials and weight of the material affect heating.
28 Problem Solution BEFORE YOU CALL • Solutions to common problems Oven smokes excessively when broiling. • Incorrect setting or food preparation. See Setting broil instructions in "Setting Oven Controls" section. • Make sure oven door is open to broil stop position.
29 Brown streaks or specks on cooktop. • Spillovers are burnt onto ceramic surface. Use a razor blade scraper to remove soil. See "Cooktop Cleaning" and "Cooktop Maintenance" in the Care & Cleaning section. Metal marks on the cooktop.
