Chapter 2: Installation 5 Push button function Instruction: Y ou can press the b utton in order as shown in the diagram abo ve. If you s witch to a por t without computer connection or connected computer is powered-off , the “P or t No. ” LED will flash.
Chapter 2: Hard ware Installation 6 Rac k Installation The KVM switch has a 19” rack mount form factor and can be mounted on an y standard 19” rack. Before mounting your KVM s witch on a rac k, please follo w the steps below: Step1. Find a conv enient place to put your KVM s witch.

Before attempting to connect an ything to the KVM s witch or the computers, mak e sure the KVM s witch is pow ered off. Otherwise, plugging and unplugging cables may cause irre v ersible damage to y our computers and the KVM SWITCH.
Chapter 2: Hard ware Installation 8 NO TE: T o keep the KVM s witch status in a stable state, please lea ve the po wer adapter plugged in. This is very impor tant when KVM switches are stac ked together in a Daisy Chain stac k. Step 5 Check Again Double-chec k all of the connections.
Daisy Chain Y our Switc h If you ha ve more than one Switch you ma y wish to Daisy Chain them together to allow them to be controlled like one larger s witch Step 1. Please use the 3 ft (91.44cm), 3 to 3 KVM cable to daisy chain the KVM, first. Step 2.
Chapter 3: Console Operation 10 P ass w or d Pr otection There is an administration pass word for loc king the console display and s witching between managed computers. This password can be set by using the OSD . The password supports up to 8 digits, and only accepts “ A~Z ” , “ 0~9 ” .
Chapter 3: Console Operation 11 Selecting Computer Using Push Button Reset Button: Press P ort Select and Bank Select of bank 1 (master) simultaneously to reset KVM switch. This reset action will not only return KVM switch back to initial state b ut it will also re-check any sla ve banks which are connected to the master KVM switch.
Selecting Computer Using Hot K ey Y ou can con veniently command your KVM SWITCH b y ke yboard hot ke y entry . T o send com- mands to the KVM SWITCH, the “SCR OLL LOCK” ke y must be pressed twice within 2 seconds, then you will hear a confirmation beep that the keyboard is in hot k ey mode .

Chapter 3: Console Operation 14 OSD OPERA TION Details When you access the OSD menu b y using the hot ke ys, you will see the f ollowing small windo w pop up on your monitor . The 1 st line bar is Bank No . The 2 nd bloc k is your KVM’ s computer system name list.
Chapter 3: Console Operation 15 OSD OPERA TION Details continued 1. The “OSD: 10 SEC” means that the OSD windows displa y or computer system name will display f or 10 sec. on your monitor . Y ou can modify it from 05 sec to 99 sec. The factory default v alue is 10 sec.
Chapter 4: T r oubleshooting 16 General Problems Q: The OSD menu does not display a “ ” on a channel where a computer is connected and powered up. What do I do? Y our KVM SWITCH will update “ ” e very 2 seconds. Using the hot k eys to access the OSD menu again should hav e re-detected all the active channels.
Chapter 4: T r oubleshooting 17 PS/2 Mouse Problems Q: The mouse is not detected during boot-up. One of the following ma y be the case: • Check the cab les and make sure they are inserted properly in the correct por ts. • Check y our computer / motherboard documentation making sure that the PS/2 mouse por t (or IRQ) is enabled.
Chapter 4: T r oubleshooting 18 Problem with po wer switch and po wer adapter Q: The power switc h is off, but the s witch still w orks fine or power adapter is unplugged from the s witch, but the s witch still w orks fine? KVM SWITCH draws the po wer source from power adapter and computer’ s PS2 por t.
