7 -EN Initial System Start-Up Be sure to pr ess the RE SET switch w hen using the unit for the first time, after changing t he car b attery , etc. 1 T urn off the unit powe r . 2 Press (OPEN) to open the front panel, and then remove it. 3 Press RESET w ith a ballpoi nt pen or simil ar point ed object .

9 -EN Setting RDS Reception M ode and Receiving RDS Stations The RDS (Rad io Data Sys tem) is a ra dio info rmation syst em using the 57 kH z subcarr ier of regular FM broadca st.
10 -EN PI SEEK Setting 1 Press and ho ld F/SETUP for at least 2 seco nds to activate the SETUP mode . 2 Tu r n t h e Rotary enco der to select the PI SEEK mode, an d then p ress / ENT . 3 Tu r n t h e Rotary enco der to select ON or OFF . 4 Press and ho ld F/SETUP for at least 2 seco nds to return to normal mode.
11 -E N When traffic information stations cannot b e received: In t he CD mod e: When the TP sig nal can no long er be rec eived, the traff ic information station o f ano ther fr equen cy wil l be sele cted automatically .
12 -EN 6 After pressing (OPEN) to ope n th e f ro nt p an el, press to eject the disc. • Do not r emove a CD during its eject cycle. Do not load more than one disc at a time. A malfuncti on may result fr om doing either . • If the CD does not eject, press and hold for at least 2 se conds.
13 -E N File/Folder Name Search (concerning MP3/WMA/AA C) Folder and file names may be se arched and dis played durin g playbac k. 1 During MP3/WMA/AAC playbac k, press / ENT to activate the sear ch mode. 2 Tu r n t h e Rotary enco der to select Folder Name Search mode or File Name Search mode, and then press / ENT .
14 -EN Supported p la ybac k sam pling r ates an d bit ra tes MP3 WMA AAC This de vice may not play b ack cor rectly depe nding on samp ling rate s. In the US B mode , the playb ack time may not b e cor rectly displayed when a V BR (V ariable Bit Rate) record ed file is played back.
15 -E N Adjusting Subwoofer Leve l/Bass Level/ T reble Level/B alance (Between Left and Right)/Fader (Between Fro nt and Rear)/ Defeat 1 Press Rotary enc oder (AUDIO) repeatedly to choose the de sired mode.

18 -EN Y o u can flexibly custom ize t he unit to s uit yo ur own prefe rences and usage. From the SETUP menu , Sound Custo mizing, V isual Custom izing, etc., can be modified. 1 Press and ho ld F/SETUP for at least 2 seco nds to activate the SETUP mode .
19 -E N Dimmer Control Set the D IMME R control to A UTO to decrea se the ill umina tion brightn ess of the unit with the head ligh ts of the vehicle ON.
20 -EN • No sound is produced by the system when the power out put is set to OFF . T urnin g Mute Mode On /O ff (INT MUTE) If a device having the interrup t feature is c onnected, audio will be auto matica lly muted w hen ever the i nter rupt signa l is r eceived from the device.
21 -E N An iPod ® can be con nected t o this u nit b y using the propri etary ALPINE FULL SPEED™ Conne ction Cable (KCE -422i) (sold separa tely). Wh en this unit i s con nected by using the cable, the control s on the iPod a re not function al.
22 -EN 5 Tu r n t h e Rotary enco der to select the desired Song, and then press /ENT . The select ed song i s played back. • After pressing and holding / ENT for at least 2 se conds w hile i n each hierar chy (except Song and Audiobook hierarchy), all songs of the sel ected hi erar c hy ar e played bac k.
23 -E N Random Play Shuffle (M. I.X.) The Shuffle functio n of the iPod is displayed as M.I .X. on this unit . Shuffle Albums: The songs on ea ch album ar e played ba ck in prop er orde r . Upon complet ion of all the songs on the a lbum, the n ext album is selected ran domly .
24 -EN In Case of Difficulty If you encounte r a problem, please turn the power off, then on again. If the un it is stil l not functi oning normall y , please review the it ems in th e following check list. This gui de will help you isolate the probl em if the unit is a t fault.
25 -E N • No CD is inserted . - Ins ert a CD . • Alth ough a disc is insert ed, “N O DI SC” is displa yed and the unit does not start to pla y or eject the disc. - Rem ove the di sc by f ollowing thes e step s: Press the b utton agai n for at least 2 sec onds.

28 -EN Installation • The ma in unit must be mounted w ithin 35 degr ees of t he horiz ontal plane, back to front. Removal 1. Remove the deta chable fr ont panel. 2. Use a small screwdriver (or similar tool) to push th e locking pin s to the “u p” positi on (see above drawing).
