CHILD RES TR AINTS W ARNINGS Childr en must al wa ys be pr operl y restr ained. This sec tion pro vides useful informa tion on the installa tion and sa fe use of chil d restraints. Ford strongl y recommends tha t you r ead and understand this se ction bef ore c arrying childr en in your v ehicle.
SELECTING A CHILD RE S TRAINT S Y STEM T o pro vide prot ection, a child r estr aint sys tem shoul d meet thr ee r equirements. 1. The child r estraint s ystem c omplies with Austr alian Standar d AS17 54.
E166723 Note: Side curtain air bags ( where fitt ed) will not interf ere with a properly inst all ed child r estr aint sy stem or boos ter se at, because the y are designed to infl at e down ward fr om the headliner abo ve the doors al ong the side window opening s.
The t op te ther anchora ge s are onl y suitabl e for chil d restraint s conf orming t o Austr alian St andard A S1754-2004 or l ater . If your chil d restraint does not ha ve an appro ved l atched hook a ttaching clip as shown, y ou should consul t an appro ved restr aint fitting station.
When a chil d outgr ow s the rec ommended weight or height limits f or a forward f acing child r estr aint sy stem, the child shoul d sit on a booster se a t and we ar a lap-sa sh sea tbel t.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERA TION W ARNINGS The w earing of a se atbel t is a mandat ory re quirement. S ea tbelts should be pr operl y f ast ened and adjust ed bef ore the v ehicl e is driven. A djust the driver's se at position be for e f as tening the sea tbel t.
The se atbel t pretensioner s at the fr ont sea ting positions are de signed to tight en the sea tbel ts when activ at ed. In front al and near-fr ontal cra shes, the sea tbelt pret ensioners may be activ at ed alone or , if the cra sh is of sufficient severity , tog ether with the front airba gs.
The 2nd r ow c entre se a tbelt c an l ock if you return the se a t back from a f olded position to the upright position f orcefull y . Should the sea tbel t lock, recline the se a t using the recline a djustment.
Type 1: The se atbel t warning lamp will be illumina t ed for 6 s econds when the ignition is turned on to r emind the driver t o fast en the sea tbel t. Type 2: The se atbel t warning lamp will be illumina t ed at an y time when the driver s sea tbel t is not fa stened.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERA TION W ARNINGS Do not fit a non-Ford appr ov ed bull bar or nudge-bar t o your vehicl e as this may int erf ere with the oper ation of the restr aint system, including the air bag depl oyment, and coul d result in injury to y oursel f and others.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERA TION MyK ey allo ws y ou to pr ogram k eys with restric ted driving mode s to pr omote g ood driving habits. All but one of the k ey s can be activ at ed with these r estrict ed modes. Any k eys tha t remain unprogr ammed are ref erred to a s administr at or keys or a dmin ke ys.
• V arious vehicl e speed minder s can be set. Onc e you sel ect a speed, it will be shown in the displ ay , foll ow ed by an audibl e tone when the pr esel ect ed vehicl e speed is exc eeded. • Audio sy stem ma ximum vol ume of 45%. A mess ag e will be shown in the displa y when you a ttempt to e x ce ed the limited v olume.
W ARNING Do not set MyK ey maximum speed limit to a limit tha t will pre vent the driver fr om maintaining a sa f e speed considering post ed speed limits and prev ailing roa d conditions. The driv er is alw ay s re sponsible t o drive in acc ordanc e with loc al l aw s and prev ailing conditions.

USING MYKEY WITH REMOTE S T ART S Y STEMS MyK ey is not compa tible with non Ford-appr ov ed, aft ermarket remot e start sys tems. If y ou choose to install a remot e start sy st em, see an authoriz ed deal er for a Ford-appr ov ed remot e start syst em.
LOCKING AND UNLOCKING Po wer Door Lock s The po wer door l ock control is on the driv er and front pa sseng er door panels. E184784 A B Unlock. A Lock. B Remot e Contr ol Y ou can use the remot e c ontrol a t any time while y our vehicle is swit ched off.
Locking and Unlocking the Door s Individuall y with the K ey Locking E112203 If the centr al l ocking function fail s to oper ate, lock the door s individuall y using the ke y in the position shown. Left-Hand Side T urn clockwise t o l ock. Right-Hand Side T urn counter clock wise to l ock.
W ARNINGS Make sur e to cl ose and la tch the liftg at e to prev ent dra wing exhaust fumes into y our vehicle. This will al so prev ent passenger s and car go fr om falling out. If you mus t drive with the lift ga t e open, ke ep the vents or windo ws open so out side air comes int o your vehicl e.
Note: Make sure ther e is enough headr oom to open the lift ga te. Note: If your vehicl e has an a utoma tic transmission, make sur e the transmission sele ct or l ev er is in park. Note: In extreme w ea ther conditions, automa tic opening and closing will not work with the liftg at e frozen t o the seal.
Note: Do not le av e a passiv e ke y in your vehicl e when cl osing the liftg at e. A messag e will be shown in the displ ay . See Information Messa ges (pa ge 80). Note: A recess ed grip is l oca ted inside the liftg at e to help with closing. Y ou can either: • Pr ess the butt on on the remot e contr ol twice within thr ee sec onds.
P ASSIVE ANTI-THEFT S YS TEM Principl e of Opera tion The s yst em pre vents some one from starting the engine with an inc orrec tly coded k ey . Coded K ey s If you l ose a key , you c an purcha se a repl ac ement from an authoriz ed deal er . If possible , pr ovide them with the k ey number from the ta g pro vided with the original ke ys.
ADJU S TING THE S TEERING WHEEL W ARNING Do not adjust the st eering wheel when your v ehicl e is moving. Note: Make sure tha t you ar e sitting in the corre ct position. 1 2 E161488 1. Unlock the st eering column. 2. Adjust the s teering whe el to the desir ed position.

Note: If streak s or smears appe ar on the windshield , clean the windshiel d and the wiper blade s.
Note: During wet or wint er driving conditions with ic e, sno w or a salty roa d mist, inc onsistent or une xpec ted wiping or smearing ma y occur . In these conditions, you c an do the foll owing: • Lo w er the sensitivity of the aut owiper s to r educe the amount of sme aring.
REAR WINDOW WIPER AND W ASHERS Rear W indo w Wiper Note: Fully defr ost the re ar windo w bef ore swit ching on the rear windo w wiper . Note: Make sure y ou swit ch off the re ar window wiper s bef ore ent ering a car w ash chamber . Note: Clean the r ear windo w and wiper blade s if they be gin to l ea ve str eak s or smears.
GENERAL INF ORMA TION Condensa tion in Lamp Assemblies Ext erior lamp s hav e vents t o acc ommodate normal chang es in air pressur e. Condensa tion can be a natur al by-pr oduct of this design. When moist air ent ers the lamp a ssembly through the v ents, there is a possibility tha t condensa tion can occur when the temper a ture is c old .

The he adl amps will not turn on by wiper activ ation: • During a mist wipe. • When the wipers ar e on to cl ear wa sher fluid during a w ash c ondition. • If the wipers are in int ermittent mode. Note: If you swit ch autol amps and auto wipers on, the headl amps will automa tically turn on when the windshiel d wipers continuousl y operat e.

Closing the W indows W ARNING When cl osing the window s and moonroof , y ou should v erify they ar e free of obstruc tions and make sur e that chil dren and pets are not in the pro ximity of the windo w openings. T o close the window s and moonroof , press and hold the r emot e contr ol lock but ton.
Manual Folding and Unf ol ding The po wer f olding mirrors oper ate with the ignition on, and f or sev eral minut es a fter you s witch the ignition off .
